Looking out his bedroom window, Prince Ben had a perfect view of the Isle of the Lost. In deep thought, he did not hear someone asking him to turn his head so they could measure adequately.
"Head." They finally said, grabbing Ben's chin and turning it forward himself. While the man was measuring Ben's head, his parents, King Adam and Queen Belle, threw the bedroom doors open.
"Now, how is it possible that you are going to be crowned king next month? You are just a kid." Beast said. "I did not make a good decision until I was at least forty-two."
"Now, dear, he is turning sixteen. And forty-two? You decided to marry me at twenty-eight."
"Well, I was only given the choice between you and the teapot," Beast said, making eye contact with his son and slightly laughing. However, seeing the look on Belle's face made him say, "Kidding, darling."
"Mom, Dad, I have chosen my first official proclamation. I have decided that the children of the Isle of the Lost should be given a chance to come live here in Auradon." Ben spoke quickly and nervously.
"I'm sorry, you want the children of our sworn enemies to come live among us?"
"We will start off with a few at first. I just need to get my hands on a list of all the children living there."
Seeing how the King looked, Belle chimed into the conversation. "I gave you a second chance," she reminded him. "Will it just be you deciding who will get the chance to come over?"
"I will seek help from Perseus as he usually is calm and level-headed about most things. This way, I can bounce ideas off of someone else."
"Ok, but you can only choose five names and must get them approved by me before any letters are sent out," King Adam says, finally giving in both his wife and his son.
"Thank you, Dad," Ben said, finally done getting measured for his coronation suit. "Now, if you do not mind, I will find dear old Perseus."
After walking around Auradon Prep for about ten minutes, Ben spotted Perseus reading at one of the tables in the library. "Ah, just the man I was looking for. I need your help with something."
"What do you need help with?" Perseus asked, sensing the nerves radiating off of Ben.
"I can't tell you out in the open. Walk with me to my office?" He asked before walking away without an answer.
While on the way to Ben's office, the two ran into Perseus' twin sister and Ben's girlfriend, Audrey. "Hey, Bennyboo," She chirped, only receiving a wave and quick hello before they disappeared into the office.
"Now, what is so important that is making you nervous and pulling me into your office," Perseus asked before seeing the stack of names sitting on his desk. "Holy Mother of all things good, you actually got your proclamation approved."
"Yes and no. I must pick five names from this stack by tomorrow and get them approved. And I pulled you in here so I can get some help with that." Ben explained before sitting behind his desk and splitting the pile into two stacks.
After a few minutes of looking through the papers, Ben and Perseus have decided on Jay, Carlos, and Evie. "What about, I don't know, Maleficent's daughter?" Perc threw out, getting a bewildered look from Ben. "Now hear me out; if your plan is to show that the VKs can change, then why not invite one of the most feared villains kid."
Well, if we are going off that logic, then how about the daughter of Dr. Facilier?" Receiving a curt nod, Ben said, "Then it looks like we have our five villain kids. Can you start drafting letters to send while I get these kids approved? Thanks, Perc, I owe you." he yelled behind him while walking away to find his father.
"MALEFICENT AND DR. FACILIER?! They are two of the worst of the land." King Adam yelled disapprovingly.
"Dad, just hear me out..."
"I won't hear of it. They are guilty of unspeakable crimes."
"Dad, their children are innocent. Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life? Dad?"
"I suppose their children are innocent."
"Thank you. I can send out the invites later today. We should be expecting them in the next two days."
