"So," Ben started, clearing his throat. I guess this is where I leave you. Hopefully, I'll see you tomorrow," he said before leaving.
As soon as Ben walked away, I closed my door and took in the sight before me. There was a four-poster bed, a walk-in closet fully stocked, a desk, and a vanity set up in the main room. In the bathroom, there was an oversized bathtub and a walk-in shower. The sink lined up with face care bottles, and I did not know what any of them did. Walking back to the main room, I emptied my bag and sorted all my belongings before opening up the spellbook my father left in my care. On the first page, he wrote a note addressed to me. 'I know one day you will find this book. If you ever leave this island, your powers and abilities will awaken. Not only will you be able to tell someone's future with the deck of cards, but you will also be naturally good at potion-making and Chemistry. Your power in Mediumship and spellcasting will also awaken. Mediumship allows you to perceive and communicate with spirits and those in the afterlife. Just know I'm not expecting anything from you and that I love you. -Your father, Dr.Facilier.'
Deciding that today has already been filled with drama, I just walked to the bathroom to take a warm bath and wash off the events from today. After getting out of the bath, I changed into the silk pajamas that were already stocked in the dresser and climbed into the big bed with Dad's spellbook. Turning the pages, I surprisingly found a spell that would change the color of any object. To test out my awakened powers, I turned to the pink walls and thought of the spell, causing them to turn red with a black accent wall. Turning to the back I found another handwritten note explaining that any spell I need will automatically pop up in his book if it exists, but only if I really think I need it.
The next day, I woke up early and found an outfit that mixes the Isle and Auradon nicely. While walking towards the lockers with my class schedule in my hand, I found the rest of the VKs huddled in front of Mal's and Evie's dorm room. "Hey. What did you disappear to last night? We knocked on your door, but you never answered." Mal asked. "I was probably chilling in that giant bathroom we all have. I was in there for a while. What happened last night?" I asked curiously.
"We found the wand, but it is locked up with a forcefield and an alarm system. So we have to find a plan B." Jay explained while we all walked to find our lockers.
"Hey guys, how was your first night here?" Ben asked, with Perseus slightly behind him.
The four of them looked at each other while I found and opened my locker, seeing all the books I needed already placed inside. "Well, it wasn't as eventful as the tour, but we managed perfectly fine," I said since no one else wanted to speak up. "Good, if you need help finding classrooms, my phone number has already been inputted into the phone in your locker. I suggest you guys get each other's numbers as well." Ben said to everyone but still looking at me. Looking down at his watch, he just realized what time it was; he quickly excused himself and walked away from Perseus, just two steps behind.
Turning around, you found everyone staring at you. "What? Do I have something on my face?" you asked, looking at your reflection in the phone sitting in your locker. "No, but I think we just found our Plan B," Mal said mysteriously.
Deciding to leave it for now, you just walked away from the group, telling them that you'll meet up with them during Remedial Goodness 101. Quickly, you found your first class of the day, Chemistry, in which you conveniently sat next to Perseus. "Thank Hades, I know someone in this class." You said, seeing him.
"So, your friend Mal, is she single?" Perseus asked quietly, causing you to look a little shocked at the question. "Yeah, why are you asking for someone?" "Maybe. Are you? Single, I mean?" He asked quietly after a few seconds of silence. "Yeah, I am."
Leaving it at that, he decided to let you focus and think about the questions he just asked. Before long, the bell rang, breaking you out of your concentration and signaling the class change where you met up with the rest of your friend group. After a few questions in Remedial Goodness 101, you started to space off while Mal drew a detailed sketch of the wand beside you.
"If someone hands you a crying baby, do you A) Curse it, B) Lock it in a tower, C) Give it a bottle, or D) Carve out its heart?" Fairy Godmother asked, reading the question from the board. "Evie?" "What was the second one again?" "Ok, anyone else? y/n?"
"C) Give it a bottle," I answered, feeling everyone looking at me. "Correct again." "Dang girl, you're on fire," Carlos said. "Just pick the one that does not sound fun," I said in a duh voice, Mal nodding like it was common sense.
Before Fairy Godmother could read another question, someone quickly walked past us holding a piece of paper, "You need to sign off on the early dismissal for the coronation." Quickly, she signed the piece of paper, and the girl, introduced to us as her daughter Jane, promptly walked past us again.
"Now, you find a vial of poison, do you A) Put it in the king's wine, B) Paint it on an apple, or C) Turn it over to the proper authorities?" Everyone but Mal and I raised our hands. "Jay?" "C) You turn it over to the proper authorities."
"Hey, I was going to say that," Carlos complained. "But I said it first." Jay rebutted, causing the two of them to start fighting. Tuning everyone out, I realized a few spirits were hanging around in the shadows. "Well, I have nothing else on my schedule for the rest of the day, so meet you guys back at Mal's and Evie's?" I asked after the bell rang again.
"Yeah, we will text you when we return to our dorm," Evie said before walking to her next class, which so happened to be Chemistry.
