Mamiko sat us all done for introductions. The girl in the blue dress was Akari, who seemed really smart, the type of person who would bring up random fact is the middle of a conversation. The girl with the plaid skirt was Emica, she looked kinda goth-ish but was really bubbly. The girl who really took my breath away was Muzuki, she was shy and had the voice of an angel. They all seemed so nice. I hoped with all my heart that we could be friends. Mamiko was chattering away about what we could do today and brought up that we had to get my uniform for next week. the group grew excited at the news that I was going to their school for the year and started to plan a tour of all the best places in the city. I smiled, this surprise trip was beginning to look up.
The four of them argued playfully about where they should take me first, but after ten or so minutes we had a rather long list that would entertain us for quite a long time. Mamiko grabs me by the wrist and laughs as we stumble out of the apartment into the hall, laughing.

Our apartment building was near a bus stop, so we took public transport into the center of Ota City (the suburb we are in) to a street bustling full of a ridiculous amount of people, with large illuminated signs poked out for the sides. The girls were practically floating across the street, happily leading me to what seem to be a blush pink store selling stationary and other random things like plushies and backpacks. I smile despite my hatred for shopping. Emica skips into the store, spreads her arms wide and says ta-da in such an excited exaggerated way. I will admit I did like the cutesy vides the store was giving off.
We spent quite a while in that store peering at keyrings filled with cats or anime characters, mechanical pencils in pastel colors, and little bags that were so small they didn't even fit Akari's phone. I picked up to pens with animals on the top, hide behind a rack and moved them around, talking in funny voices. Muzuki and Akari laughed and joined in moving the animals. Muzuki's laugh was like little bells tinkling whereas Akari's was a deep belly laugh. Soon we were all giggling and talking in funny voices.
I smile wider, at home it took me so long to make friends, but here with Mamiko and her friends it was so easy it was almost effortless. I didn't have to fake smile and laugh readily at the dry jokes Milly would tell. I didn't have to put up with Alma constantly drawing unwanted attention to us. I might finally have a group of real friends.

The day passed quickly,we visited a cat cafe where a cute tabby cat sat with me, purring like I've never heard before. The owned said that the cats were all up for adoption if we ever wanted one. The tabby was really cute and I felt mean leaving her there but there was other things to do and other places to go.
We spent a few hours at this beautiful park, lying in the sun, listening to the water features and talking. There was such a large assortment of flowers to see and lanterns that were hung from the lowest branches of the trees. The path were marked with wide flat stepping stones. It was breath taking really. It was strange to think that we were in one of the biggest cities in the world when you were surrounded by nature instead of the smoky environment that lay mere meters away.
And finally we went to get my uniform, it consisted of a plain black skirt a white shirt and a navy blazer with a matching tie. I pulled each element on gazing in the mirror. My old uniform was nothing like this one. I spun in front of the mirror, it looked okay even fashionable. It was definingly an improvement
After a tide of comments and tips to make my new school easier it was finally time to go back to the apartment. We were walking back through a slightly dark street when a quick flash of movement caught my eye. I spun around so that I faced the ally. Tendrils of my blonde hair whipping across my face as I did so. My vision was consumed by an enormous grey beast and a horrifying pair of cold blue eyes.
