The Slytherin common room was alive with the sounds of laughter, chatter, and clinking glasses. The annual Slytherin party was in full swing, and students from all houses had found their way into the festivities. Among the crowd, Theodore Nott, typically reserved and composed, was a different sight entirely. His usually sharp, calculating eyes were unfocused, and a lazy, lopsided grin adorned his face. He stumbled slightly, holding a nearly empty bottle of firewhiskey.

Maggie Bennett, a Ravenclaw with long dark hair and a quiet intelligence that had drawn Theodore to her, was standing near the fireplace, chatting with her friends. Her eyes lit up when she saw Theo approaching, but her smile faded as she noticed his unsteady gait.

"Theo?" she called out, concern evident in her voice.

Theo blinked and turned towards the sound of her voice, his face breaking into a relieved smile. "Maggie!" he slurred, making his way toward her. "I... I need your help."

Maggie quickly excused herself from her friends and hurried to Theo's side. She could smell the alcohol on his breath and see the way his eyes struggled to focus on her face. Wrapping an arm around his waist, she guided him to a quieter corner of the common room.

"Theo, how much have you had to drink?" she asked softly, brushing a lock of hair away from his forehead.

He shrugged, swaying slightly. "Too much, I think," he admitted, his voice filled with a mix of embarrassment and regret.

Maggie sighed and tightened her grip around him. "Let's get you out of here," she said gently.

Navigating through the crowded room was a challenge, with curious glances and whispered comments following them. Once they were outside the noisy common room and into the quieter dungeon corridors, the cool air seemed to bring Theo back to his senses slightly.

"I'm sorry, Maggie," he mumbled, leaning heavily on her. "I didn't mean to ruin the night."

Maggie looked up at him, her eyes filled with concern and affection. "You're not ruining anything, Theo. I just want to make sure you're okay."

With some effort, they made their way to the Slytherin dormitory. Maggie helped Theo onto his bed, his movements sluggish and uncoordinated. She sat beside him, holding his hand as he closed his eyes.

"Why did you drink so much?" she asked softly, her thumb tracing circles on his hand.

Theo sighed, his eyes still closed. "I don't know. I guess... everything's just been so overwhelming lately. My father, the expectations, everything."

Maggie's heart ached for him. She knew how much pressure he was under, and she wished she could take it all away. "You don't have to go through this alone, Theo. I'm here for you, always."

He opened his eyes, gazing at her with a mix of gratitude and love. "I know. Thank you, Maggie. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Maggie leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead. "You won't ever have to find out," she whispered.

As Theo's breathing steadied and he drifted off to sleep, Maggie stayed by his side, her presence a comforting reminder that he was not alone. The party continued in the background, but in that quiet moment, all that mattered was each other.
