Soap's POV:
The early morning air was cold and crisp as we gathered our gear and prepared to leave for our mission in Siberia. The camp was a flurry of activity, the team moving with practiced efficiency. Despite the chill, a bead of sweat trickled down my spine, not from the cold but from the anticipation and the lingering tension between Ghost and me.
We had received our mission briefing the previous night. A high-value target had been located in a remote Siberian outpost, and we were tasked with extraction. It was a week-long operation, and the conditions would be harsh, but we were ready. As ready as we could be, given the circumstances.
I glanced over at Ghost as he secured his gear. His movements were smooth, methodical. Our eyes met for a brief moment, and I felt a familiar flutter in my chest. The memory of the night before, of being pressed together in the tight confines of the locker, was still fresh in my mind. His arousal, the way his body reacted to mine, had been a potent reminder of the connection we shared.
Captain Price called out, and we gathered around him for final instructions. The helicopter was waiting, its rotors already spinning, ready to take us into the icy wilderness. I felt a rush of adrenaline, the familiar excitement of a new mission mingling with the tension between Ghost and me.
We boarded the helicopter, the interior cramped and noisy. I found a seat near the back and Ghost slid in beside me. The space was tight, our legs pressed together. The contact sent a jolt through me, a reminder of our unresolved tension. I shifted slightly, trying to get comfortable, but it was no use. The warmth of his leg against mine was impossible to ignore.
As the helicopter lifted off, I glanced at Ghost. He was staring straight ahead, his expression unreadable, but I could see the tightness in his jaw, the way his fingers flexed and relaxed. He was feeling it too, the electric current that seemed to flow between us whenever we were close.
The roar of the helicopter made conversation difficult, but it also provided a strange sort of privacy. I leaned in slightly, my voice low. "You ready for this?"
Ghost turned to me, his eyes intense. "Always."
The simple exchange was loaded with meaning. We were both professionals, both focused on the mission, but there was no denying the undercurrent of tension. The touch of our legs, the memory of last night, it all hung between us, unspoken but palpable.
I tried to focus on the mission ahead, on the details we had been briefed on, but it was difficult with Ghost so close. The scent of him, the warmth of his body, it was all a distraction. I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to center myself.
The helicopter ride was long, and the noise and vibration eventually lulled me into a light doze. I awoke with a start as we began our descent, the icy landscape of Siberia coming into view. The ground was a stark white, the trees bare and twisted, a desolate beauty that took my breath away.
We landed with a jolt, the helicopter kicking up a flurry of snow. The doors opened, and the cold hit me like a physical force. We disembarked quickly, securing our gear and forming up. Price was already barking orders, his voice carrying over the wind.
Ghost and I exchanged a look, a silent confirmation that we were ready. Whatever lay ahead, we would face it together. The mission was our priority, but the tension, the connection, it was always there, just beneath the surface.
As we moved out, the cold biting into my skin, I felt a strange sense of anticipation. The mission in Siberia would test us in many ways, but it was also an opportunity. An opportunity to prove ourselves.
