Soap's POV:

The briefing room felt unusually tense as we gathered around the large table. Captain Price stood at the head, his gaze sweeping across the room to ensure he had everyone's attention. I took my seat, trying to focus on the task at hand, but my mind kept drifting to Ghost. He sat directly across from me, his eyes already locked on mine. The intensity of his stare sent a shiver down my spine, and I quickly looked away, my thoughts racing back to that moment in the locker.

"Alright, listen up," Price began, his voice firm and commanding. "We've got a new mission. We'll be deployed to a remote area in Siberia for a week. It's going to be cold, it's going to be snowy, and it's going to be tough."

I forced myself to focus on the map spread out before us, detailing our drop zone and objectives. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake the memory of Ghost's body pressed against mine, the heat between us in that confined space, and the undeniable hardness I had felt. The way he had groaned, trying to stay quiet... It was all too vivid in my mind.

"We'll be inserted here," Price continued, pointing to a northern region on the map. "From there, we'll move south, gathering intel on enemy positions and movements. Our primary objective is to locate and extract a high-value target."

I dared another glance at Ghost. His eyes were still on me, intense and unreadable. The memory of his hardness, the way his breath had quickened... I felt my face heat up, and I quickly looked back at the map.

"Conditions will be harsh," Price said. "Sub-zero temperatures, heavy snowfall, and limited visibility. Make sure your gear is in perfect condition. We can't afford any malfunctions out there."

I nodded along with the others, but my thoughts were elsewhere. What had Ghost been thinking in that locker? Had he felt the same mix of confusion and desire that I had?

"Any questions?" Price asked, looking around the room.

Ghost's hand shot up, breaking our eye contact. "What's our timeline, Captain?"

"We'll be on the ground for a week," Price replied. "Seven days to complete the mission and exfiltrate."

The room fell silent as everyone processed the information. I glanced at Ghost again, but this time he was staring at the map, his expression serious. I wondered if he was thinking about the same thing I was, about the way we had been pressed together, about how close we had been.

"Alright, dismissed," Price said, folding up the map. "Get your gear ready. We leave at 0500."

As we stood to leave, I felt a lingering tension in the air, a silent understanding that we weren't just preparing for a mission. We were dealing with something else, something unspoken and unresolved.

I avoided looking directly at Ghost as we filed out of the room, but I could feel his eyes on me. The memory of his body against mine, the heat, the pressure, the raw, unfiltered emotion... It all swirled in my mind, making it hard to think straight.

We had a mission to focus on, a week in the frozen wilderness ahead of us. But I knew that the real challenge would be facing whatever it was that lingered between us, silent but powerful, demanding to be acknowledged.
