Today was one of the days were everything I did ended up in a disaster. Well this has been going on for a while.

The day started with me being late for 30 minutes because my phone died and coincided with a bad hair day, so on...

Sighing I looked at my clock and noticed I have another hour for lunch break. My stomach was just weeping at this point because I didn't have my breakfast today.

Roman again went back to his usual self. He didn't text me or speak to me after the kiss. The only words exchanged between us were good bye that too from me to him.

My thoughts were disturbed as my phone rang and CFO asked me to meet him.

So I started my journey to his room on my way I waved at Martha; she was a sweet lady who works as Roman's Pa and have been working along with him for 3 years.

As I entered the room, I saw our CFO pacing through the office looking so tensed. When he saw me he sighed and welcomed me to sit in one of the chairs. What was he planning? Is he going to fire me?

Raising my eyebrow I looked at him suspiciously. But he again heaved a sigh dramatically so I started speaking "Sir ..."

"No call me Lawrence, Lyra because I want to ask a personal favor from you "he said. Something is fishy.

"My wife's birthday is on next Monday but we have an important meeting scheduled on that day for the chiefs of all departments. The thing is I am scared our CEO won't sanction my leave. So can you please personally express to him about my issue", he asked without even taking a minute to breath.

I don't know what to reply, I mean if he was my real fiancé I could have put a word but him being a fake and also in this awkward state.

"Lawrence, Roman and I don't bring professional life into our private one. So I don't think my words would bring any light on this issue. I can try but I can't try guarantee you", I said sincerely.

"Thank you Ms. Davis ", he said understanding my concern.

The lunch time arrived and I was feasting on my pasta with no care in the world. The cheese pasta melted on my mouth leaving a blast of spices and the ache for more.

"I knew that asshole would say something like that. He is a douchebag who belongs to hell" Caden said showing his rage.

We all nodded our head clearly agreeing with him.

Caden was now becoming one of our frequent lunch companion. He was a down to earth guy and he was becoming one of my good friend.

When I looked at May I noticed how keenly she was observing Caden. Was she interested in him but isn't he interested in Aelin. Without thinking further on the topic I continued my previous action.

"So nothing else happened? Like nothing romantically exchanged between you too", Jagger asked me hopefully as I noticed the same look on Caden. So he also doesn't know about our kiss.

"Nope "I replied.

"But can you see yourself in a relationship with him in the future? " Aelin asked me. "I don't know, isn't it too early to decide on something like . I mean like we are poles apart and he is my boss. No offence Caden "I answered truthfully.

"None taken ", he said.

Then my phone pinged showing a message notification from Roman .What now.

Bossman: I need to about some urgent matter with you.

Me: ok, after work .

Bossman: not in office.

Me: then come to my apartment about seven.

Bossman: Ok
