Let us begin-

Grian is known for many things; Chest monsters, Life Games, pranking, excellent builds, button pressing urges, anti-redstone(unless you want it broken), friendliness, being short, secrets, and high privacy standards regarding his past. The other Hermits of course respect this and never thought much of it, and if you know his life story, you likely understand why he keeps it secret. Now with Grian's past being a mystery, the Hermits obviously weren't aware that Grian was one who has met, killed, and become easily capable of angering and killing both watchers and listeners, he has had this capability prior to becoming a watcher himself. When Grian escaped the watchers and achieved safe harbor within Hermitcraft after having been stuck with the very creatures who destroyed his server for many years, he swore to protect the Hermits as what he felt he owed them, making him become the unknown defender of Hermitcraft. To players both on and off Hermitcraft, Grian's watcher persona was famously known as 'The Runaway Watcher Of Freedom,' Xelqua, or Xel. Some people went as far as to worship Xel, although Grian had no clue, Xisuma was one of those people. 

Xisuma wouldn't have ever suspected that Grian was the very being that is capable of terminating a hundred beings that could overpower any god below the top two rank of Gods in a minute, in fact no Hermit had suspected Grian, who would? The 34 block tall, fierce, powerful, and destroying Runaway Watcher Of Freedom would never be suspected of being Grian, a short, mischievous, playful, unorganized, secretive, and 'harmless' pesky birb.

There was a single hermit that has seen the many sides of the mischievous Avian that is kept hidden. A single exception. All except one Hermit has never viewed Grian when he was truly in his defensive state, unlike the other Hermits, Pearl is a separate story.

Pearl is the only Hermit other than the cheerful avian himself, to be knowledgeable on the Xelqua's last seeing as they're siblings after all. Grian and Pearl have gone through various kinds of traumatic experiences together, Grian would have it worse the majority of the time as he held the job of oldest with full commitment.

Pearl has always loved her older brother dearly, ever since she opened her eyes for the first time when he was 3 and she was just newly born, as an Avian herself, she started walking, talking and grew consciousness at an early age of 5 months and when she was capable of walking, she stayed by Grian's side whenever she was given the chance to. 

When Grian was sent to Japan, Pearl was 1, Grian had been 4, yet Pearl had enough intelligence to sneak aboard Grian's flight without anyone having known. During YHS, Grian had Pearl go to a separate school for a list of many reasons, the younger had tried to convince her elder brother to let her go to school with him to for him to go to her school, Grian denied knowing the probability of Sam following him was high, and amongst the list of reasons previously mentioned, without Sam existing it'd be shortened down to 1/16 of what it was.
