"Adrien, never am i ever getting on that thing!"
Marinette exclaimed in fear, pouting at the blond who was currently sitting on a motorcycle with a sly grin that set her heart racing.
"Come on princess, it's late and the metro is the last place you want to be right now at dark." he explained.
Princess. It has been a while now that his and her relationship felt so much different than before. Of course she was still head- over - heals with the model boy...
But what about him?
She shrugged, still not fully convinced "The street, car and the lights that come from the houses of people make it bright again.."
He chuckled running his hand through his hair and getting on his helmet on.
Marinette arched on eyebrow, her eyes filled with sight confusion.
"Fine. I'll go to the party myself then." he sighed.
Marinette gasped loudly before she whined one last time before she had to give in.
Adrien smirked as she sat behind him. "Do you have a second helmet?" she asked.
He nodded and took one out of a basket that was attached to the motorcycle "There you go."
She scoffed as she got handed the helmet. Because..it was light pink with her name on it.
"Did you seriously buy a new helmet?"
"Hey, you said you liked pink." he stated, before smiling again. "Here goes nothing."
As the motor started running marinette immediately hugged adriens back tightly, his breath hitching.
"Promise me you'll drive slow!" she shouted eyes closed.
Adrien laughed, before smiling to himself. The fact that the girl he loved was just so close to him
made him happy. "I promise."Soon enough, they started driving.
But they were already late, and so adrien had to drive a little faster.
The whole ride passed with marinettes funny shouting and being extremely mad at adrien, but hey, atleast they made it.
After half an hour though, adrien lost sight of marinette.
He frowned. Weird, normally she's way more in the center of these things...
He sighed and put his soda down, signaling nino he'll be gone for a while, and made his way outside as he spotted marinette outside sitting by a lake.
Outside it was quiet, only the muffled music from inside being heard as adrien made his way closer to her, slightly surprised.
When he approached her, the look in her eyes made his heart melt a little.
It was sparkling, like the city of paris at a hot summer night. Like this one, he thought.
He cleared his throat as he sat down.
"Are you okay?" he asked hesitantly, glancing at her dipping the tip of her fingers in the water, sitting with her knees up.
"Yeah. I just..needed some fresh air." she said before getting her hand out of the water and let out a breath. "The view sure is pretty huh?"
His eyes were locked to her as he blurted out an unsure yes, before he could snap himself back into reality "Uh, yeah. That's paris for you"
She let out an agreeing "hm"
"Was there something you were going to tell me?" she then faced him. His unsure eyes making her question a lot.
"I mean.." he scooted a little closer "Normally you would be playing games or, or, dancing? I just asked myself where the life of the party would hide if it caught up to her" he smiled at her, looking straight into her eyes.
Her heart skipped a beat as she felt him getting closer. But she enjoyed his company. No matter what.
She giggled at his words and then elbowed him "the way you ride a motorcycle caught up to me"
He bursted out laughing, making her eyes roll in annoyance "Hey, did anyone ever tell you you're really funny when you're scared?" he said between laughs.
"You're the first. Congrats"
He widened his eyes sarcastically "Is that so? Well thanks for letting me know."
This time it was her that was laughing.
But then it hit her.
Him being so unsure, trying to be funny, making puns..
Maybe..just maybe..
"Adrien, can i ask you something?" she asked hesitantly.
He nodded instantly.
It was starting to get really quiet, the sound of busy traffic and music inside the room fading away.
"D-...." she started before breathing in and out. "A-Adrien..i-..i..l-l-" she sighed then, facepalming herself. "Ugh what is wrong with me!"
He put a hand on her arm. "Marinette?"
Her eyes slowly met his again as he smiled at her. "I love you."
Her breath hitched as she chocked on nothing "What?!"
His face expression turned nervous "I-I mean that wasn't the reaction i was expecting, but.."
She shook her head "You love me?"
"you love me?"He nodded confused "Was that too much?"
She gasped as she realised the fact that he just confessed something so big to her.
"Adrien! I...love you too" she smiled wildly, only getting wider as she saw the hope in adriens eye get bigger.
He leaned closer and gave her a kiss on the cheek, before resting his head on her forehead. "Have i told you how mesmerising you look today with your hair down?"
She giggled "No, in fact i think you might have missed that part."
He clicked his tongue "Gosh, sorry, i'll remember to say it to you right away..since..you look beautiful to me in every second there is."
She sighed and smiled softly "We should get inside again...or alya's going to get suspicious"
His eyes widened "Oh no..."
She bursted out into a laughter, before he stood up and offered her a helping hand.
So at last, marinette found out the reason why the dramatic change of their relationship happened.
