note :: part 2 of the previous one shot, set in 80s

It all felt unreal.

It marks 1 year since adrien left, and it doesn't feel the same without him.

Marinette sighed which gave her bestfriend, who was sitting next to her in the bakery look at her with a confused stare.

"What's wrong now marinette? Did you fight with your dad again?" alya asked her with a curious look.

Marinette shook her head slowly. "No..it's just that..i was thinking about adrien again. He left so i could go to school regularly. Now, schools going to be over in a few months..and the only thing i have left from him are a few letters and pictures."

Marinettes friend looked at her with pity.

Everyone in their nearest circle knew, how much it hit marinette that adrien has left.

Marinette on the other hand, didn't know what to feel. On one hand, she knew that it was either school or adrien she had to sacrifice.

She just didn't think it would hit her this soon.

At first, marinette didn't even take adrien seriously, when he said that he loves her.

She thought he was just after fun, cause that it what he mostly talks about.

Adrien wasn't like the people marinette knew. Well, for one, he grew up somewhere else, his accent and behaviours not matching his cousins or his friends.

She guessed her dad didn't like him because of that. Because he was different. Or because he was direct and way to open.

No boy walks up to a girl and just spits his feelings out in one breath. Atleast none of the boys here.

But adrien was different. Not in a bad way. She tried to avoid him, but she couldn't help slyly smiling or waving towards him when he was outside the bakery.

Also, he was awfully funny. Since he was an open person, he didn't think twice about saying things.

But now he's gone. And every day marinette imagines him walking through the bakery door, just making one of his puns again.

Yes, she may have not took him serious. She may have not given him a chance. But after some time they grew so close and she really realised adrien was really serious..i mean..who else would risk getting caught by her dad. (He almost punched adrien)

She sighed as alya told her she needed to leave and waved as she walked out.

The day passed regularly. Nino and marinette bickered in the bakery about who would have to empty the dishwasher. Later he left. He and one of his friend went out to watch football together. Her mom and her friends met up, talked about their current situations. Well known customers went in and out.

Eventually it was time to close the bakery. It was almost pitch black outside, only the bright yellow street lights were seeable.

Her dad already left to go to their home upstairs and left the job to lock the doors to his daughter.

Marinette took a deep breath as she stepped outside. The cold fresh air making her shiver a little as she closed the doors of the bakery and put out her keys to lock it, so she kneeled and eventually managed to lock it. (The key got stuck in the keyhole)

Once that was finished she sighed again as she stood up and glanced into the silent and empty bakery, lights completely out.

All the memories.
When she first walked in and saw adrien sitting there, his startled face caughting her eyes.

She laughed under her breath as she was about to finally walk into her apartment, the door only being a few steps away from the bakery.

But then she heared a whisper.

A little too familiar whisper.

As in "mlady"

Maybe she heared it wrong. Maybe...
She turned around slowly as her eyes widened seeing the adrien, putting his luggage on the ground as he smiled towards her.

She gasped with a laugh as she stepped closer to him.

"A-Adrien?" she whispered.

He nodded "I suppose so mlady"
She blinked a little startled "Mlady?..."

Adrien laughed as he nodded "Uhm yeah?"
She started smiling a little "A whole year has passed..i'm still your mlady?"

Adrien looked at her shaking his head in disbelief. "Obviously. Who else would i call that?"

He grabbed her cold hand as she felt her face already getting warmer.

"Pretty cold in paris huh?" he smiled.

Marinette nodded sighing "Pretty boring too.."

Adriens face saddened a little "I'm sorry. I actually bought a ticket a few weeks ago..but my dad didn't want me to leave at first"

Marinette giggled "Why was he trying to find you a girlfriend?" she arched her brows with an amused smile, still processing the fact he's standing right in front of him.

Adrien rolled his eyes "As if. Plus i didn't really find any pretty girls" he acted sad before he felt marinette slapping his arm lightly causing him to burst out laughing.

"I missed you..I'm sorry for..well...for not saying goodbye to you when you left" she said softly "I was just really upset..."

Adrien nodded making her feel reassured "It's okay. I get it. So how long until school is over?"

She pointed 2 fingers "Just two more months!"

Adriens eyes sparkled "Well, after school maybe we could get married huh?"

Marinette glared at him for a second before laughing "Married? Good luck with that."
Adrien rolled his eyes as both of them flinched when they heared marinettes father calling for her.

They both hid away from the view of their balcony and marinette took a few steps forward.

"W-What's up dad?" she asked nervously.
Her dad looked down at her "Marinette come on hurry up, dinners almost ready!"

Her father closed the window before marinette went to adrien again.

"I have to go." she smiled and placed a kiss on his cheek and walked to her apartment door.

Adrien smiled at her.

"Why are you smiling like that?" she whispered loud enough for him to hear.
"Don't worry about it!" he whispered back before marinette rolled her eyes and went into the building, causing adrien to sigh and head to his own house, happy to see all the people he missed again.
