Jisoo left her sister's room, the notebook clutched tightly in her hand. She quickly slipped it into her purse, her heart pounding. The revelation of Soo Ho and Soo Mi's plan had been more than she could bear. As she walked away from the resort, her expression was grim, her mind racing with thoughts of betrayal and vengeance. She needed a moment to collect herself, to think clearly about what to do next.
The beach was quiet at this late hour, the sound of waves crashing against the shore a soothing contrast to the turmoil in Jisoo's mind. She spotted Chaeyoung sitting on a bench, staring out at the ocean. The sight of her brought a strange mixture of comfort and guilt. Jisoo approached slowly, and Chaeyoung looked up, immediately noticing the change in her demeanor.
"Hey," Chaeyoung said softly, taking off her jacket and draping it over Jisoo's shoulders. "You look cold."
Jisoo sat down beside her, feeling the warmth of the jacket and the comfort of Chaeyoung's presence. "Thanks," she murmured, her voice barely audible.
"Are you alright?" Chaeyoung asked, concern evident in her eyes.
Jisoo hesitated, her thoughts a tangled mess. "What do you mean?"
Chaeyoung sighed, reaching out to take Jisoo's hand. "Your eyes... they don't have the same light they usually do. Something's wrong, I can tell."
Jisoo looked down at their joined hands, feeling a lump form in her throat. "What would you do if I wasn't in your life?" she asked quietly.
Chaeyoung's eyes widened in surprise. "What are you talking about?"
"Just... hypothetically," Jisoo insisted, her voice trembling.
Chaeyoung's grip tightened on Jisoo's hand. "I would die," she said simply. "I love you, Jisoo. My life wouldn't be complete without you in it."
The sincerity in Chaeyoung's voice broke something inside Jisoo. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she couldn't hold them back any longer. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, her voice cracking.Chaeyoung's concern deepened.
"What's wrong? Talk to me."
But Jisoo couldn't find the words. She just cried, her body shaking with the force of her sobs. Chaeyoung pulled her into a tight embrace, stroking her hair and whispering words of comfort.
"I love you," Chaeyoung murmured. "And I wouldn't give up what we have for anything.
Jisoo's tears flowed freely, her guilt and confusion overwhelming her. How could she reconcile her need for revenge with the love she felt for Chaeyoung? Every moment with her made the decision harder, the lines between right and wrong blurring with each touch, each word.
Chaeyoung gently wiped Jisoo's tears away, her fingers soft against Jisoo's skin. "I don't know what's going on, but whatever it is, we'll get through it together." Jisoo's heart ached with the weight of Chaeyoung's words.
"I wish I could believe that" she whispered.
Chaeyoung's eyes trailed down Jisoo's face and stopped at the necklace she wore. "Where did you get that guitar pick?" she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
Jisoo looked down at the pick, the memory of the girl from the café flooding back. "A long time ago, someone gave it to me. It was a reminder that I could be strong."
Chaeyoung's expression softened. "I believe we're meant to be together, Jisoo. In every universe, every lifetime, I'll find you. And I'll do everything in my power to keep us together."
It felt surreal, it felt as if Chaeyoung truly meant every word she said.
Jisoo's heart swelled with emotion. The depth of Chaeyoung's love and commitment was almost too much to bear. She leaned in, their foreheads touching, and closed her eyes. "I love you," she whispered.
Chaeyoung smiled softly, her fingers brushing Jisoo's hair back. "And I love you. More than anything."
As they sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, the moon casting a gentle glow over the ocean, Jisoo felt a fleeting moment of peace. Despite the turmoil in her life, despite the secrets and lies, Chaeyoung's love was a constant she could hold onto. But the question lingered in her mind: could she really go through with her plan and risk losing this love?
Chaeyoung's voice broke the silence, filled with quiet determination. "No matter what happens, we'll find our way back to each other. I know we will."
Jisoo looked into Chaeyoung's eyes, seeing the unwavering belief there. She wished she could share that certainty, but the doubts gnawed at her. The night air was cool, but Chaeyoung's warmth enveloped her, offering a fragile hope in the face of an uncertain future.
As they sat together, the waves whispering secrets to the shore, Jisoo made a silent vow: she would protect Chaeyoung, no matter the cost. And maybe, just maybe, she could find a way to balance love and revenge, to carve out a future where they could be together, free from the shadows of the past.
