Jisoo made her way through the bustling corridors of the hospital, clutching a bouquet of flowers she had picked up from a nearby shop. The scent of antiseptic filled the air, mingling with the faint aroma of the flowers. She approached Lisa's room, her heart heavy with worry. She paused outside the door, taking a deep breath before pushing it open.
Inside, Lisa lay in the hospital bed, looking pale but alert. Jennie sat beside her, flipping through a folder of documents and photographs. When they noticed Jisoo entering, both looked up and offered her reassuring smiles.
"Hey, Jisoo," Lisa said weakly, her voice still carrying a hint of her usual energy. "You didn't have to bring flowers."
"I wanted to," Jisoo replied, placing the bouquet on the small table beside Lisa's bed. "How are you feeling?"
"Better, thanks to you," Lisa said. "And Jennie. She flew in last night to help us out."
Jennie nodded, her expression serious. "I brought everything we've collected so far. We have enough evidence to take down your family, Jisoo."
Jisoo sat down in the chair next to Lisa's bed, her eyes scanning the documents Jennie had laid out. Photographs, financial records, and personal correspondences detailed the corrupt activities of her family. She felt a surge of anger and determination.
"They've crossed too many lines," Jisoo said, her voice firm. "After what they did to Lisa, I'm ready to take them down. They can't get away with this."
Lisa reached out and took Jisoo's hand, squeezing it gently. "Are you sure about this, Jisoo? It won't be easy."
Jisoo met Lisa's gaze, her eyes filled with resolve. "I'm sure. They hurt you, Lisa. And they've hurt so many others. I won't let them continue. We have to do this."
Lisa smiled weakly. "I knew you'd say that. I'm with you all the way."
Jennie looked up from the documents, her eyes sharp and determined. "We have everything we need. Financial fraud, bribery, even evidence of their involvement in violent crimes. This will ruin them."
Jisoo nodded, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety. "It's time they faced the consequences. We'll bring them to justice."
As they discussed their plan, the door to Lisa's room opened, and a nurse entered to check on Lisa's vitals. Jisoo stood up, giving the nurse space to work. She glanced at the clock on the wall, noting the time.
"Chaeyoung wanted to be here, but she had a meeting she couldn't miss," Jisoo explained. "She sends her support and wishes you a speedy recovery, Lisa."
"Tell her I appreciate it," Lisa said, wincing slightly as the nurse adjusted her IV. "I'll be back on my feet soon enough."
Once the nurse finished and left the room, Jisoo sat back down, her mind racing with thoughts of their next steps. Jennie continued to go over the evidence, pointing out key pieces that would be crucial in their case against Jisoo's family.
"We need to be meticulous," Jennie said. "We can't afford any mistakes. This has to be airtight."
Jisoo nodded, absorbing every detail. "What's the first step?"
"We start by gathering more testimonies from people your family has wronged," Jennie replied. "We need to build a strong case with multiple witnesses."
"I can reach out to a few people who might be willing to talk," Lisa suggested. "People who've been hurt by them."
"Good idea," Jennie agreed. "The more voices we have, the stronger our case."
Jisoo felt a wave of gratitude towards her friends. They were risking so much to help her, and she knew she couldn't let them down.
"I don't know what I'd do without you both," Jisoo said, her voice thick with emotion.
"We're in this together," Lisa said, giving her a reassuring smile. "We'll take them down, Jisoo. I promise."
Jennie nodded in agreement. "We're not backing down. They won't know what hit them."
They spent the next few hours planning their strategy, reviewing the evidence, and making a list of people to contact. Jisoo's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, but she felt a renewed sense of purpose. She was no longer a helpless victim. She was taking control of her destiny.
As the afternoon turned into evening, Jisoo's phone buzzed with a message from Chaeyoung. She read it quickly, her heart warming at the words of encouragement and love.
"Chaeyoung says she's thinking of us and can't wait to see you, Lisa," Jisoo said, her voice soft.
"Tell her I'm looking forward to it," Lisa replied, her eyes brightening at the mention of Chaeyoung.
Jisoo sent a quick reply, feeling a surge of love and gratitude for her wife. She knew that no matter what happened, she had the support of the people she cared about most.
As the sun set outside the hospital window, casting a warm glow over the room, Jisoo felt a sense of calm. They were ready. They had a plan. And they had each other.
Lisa leaned back against her pillows, her eyes closing briefly. "I think I'm going to get some rest. But let's keep pushing forward, okay?"
"Of course," Jisoo said, standing up and giving Lisa's hand a gentle squeeze. "Get some sleep. We'll be back tomorrow with more updates."
Jennie packed up the documents, carefully placing them back in the folder. "We'll keep working on this, Lisa. You just focus on getting better."
"Thanks, Jennie," Lisa said, her voice already growing drowsy. "And thank you, Jisoo."
"Anything for you, Lisa," Jisoo replied, her heart full of affection for her friend.
They left Lisa's room, closing the door quietly behind them. As they walked down the hospital corridor, Jisoo felt a sense of determination settle over her. They had a long road ahead, but they were ready to fight.
"You know, Lisa told me everything." Jennie said while they exited the hospital, the cool evening air a welcome change from the sterile hospital environment.
"She did?" Jisoo asked, stopping in her tracks.
Jennie nodded, stopping while her back was facing her. "It was obvious."
"Obvious?"
"Before you came, everything was different." Jennie sighs, her shoulders lowering. "You both didn't seem happy, especially when Chaeyoung tried to let you go..."
"Jennie..."
"It was raining and you left, Chaeyoung was scared and risked her life outside to save you. Before we knew it, you were unconscious. When you woke up, that's when I knew."
"Does Chaeyoung know?" Jisoo asked.
"I don't know." Jennie looks back at Jisoo, "but I see it in her eyes how happy you make her."
"It's almost like you both got a second chance."
