Jisoo ran through the winding hallways of the resort, her heart pounding in her chest. She had to find Lisa. Her friend was in danger, and the thought of losing her was unbearable. She sprinted across the courtyard, her eyes scanning frantically for any sign of Lisa.

Finally, she saw a small figure slumped against a wall near the back of the resort. As she approached, she saw that it was Lisa. Blood was trickling down her forehead from a deep gash, and she was barely conscious. Jisoo dropped to her knees beside her friend, her hands trembling as she tried to assess the injury.

“Lisa, oh my god, what happened?” Jisoo cried, her voice shaking.

Lisa groaned, her eyes fluttering open. “They…they got me from behind. I didn’t see them coming.”

“We need to get you to a hospital,” Jisoo said, her voice filled with urgency. She pulled out her phone and called for an ambulance, praying it would arrive quickly.

When the ambulance finally arrived, Jisoo stayed by Lisa’s side, holding her hand and trying to keep her calm. The ride to the hospital felt like an eternity, but Jisoo remained focused, determined to stay strong for her friend.

As they wheeled Lisa into the emergency room, Jisoo felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see Chaeyoung, her face pale and worried.

“Jisoo, is she going to be okay?” Chaeyoung asked, her voice trembling.

“I hope so,” Jisoo replied, her eyes filled with tears. “She’s in good hands now.”

They sat in the waiting room, the sterile smell of the hospital and the harsh fluorescent lights making Chaeyoung visibly uncomfortable. She fidgeted in her seat, her eyes darting around the room as if she were looking for an escape.

Jisoo noticed and leaned in closer. “Chaeyoung, are you alright?”

Chaeyoung shook her head, her expression strained. “I can’t do this, Jisoo. I can’t be here.”

Before Jisoo could respond, Chaeyoung stood up and rushed out of the hospital, leaving Jisoo torn between following her and staying with Lisa. After a moment’s hesitation, she decided to stay. Lisa needed her right now.

The minutes dragged on as Jisoo waited for news. Finally, a doctor approached her, his expression serious but calm.

“Ms. Kim, your friend is stable now, but she will need to stay overnight for observation. She lost a lot of blood, but we managed to close the wound. She’s going to be okay.”

Jisoo let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you, doctor. Can I see her?”

“She’s resting now. You can visit her in the morning.”

Jisoo nodded, grateful for the good news. As she stepped outside the hospital, she spotted Chaeyoung sitting on the curb, her shoulders slumped. She approached her wife, her heart aching at the sight of her distress.

“Chaeyoung?” Jisoo said softly as she sat down beside her.

Chaeyoung looked up, her eyes filled with tears. “I’m sorry, Jisoo. I freaked out. I just…I hate hospitals.”

“It’s okay,” Jisoo said, wrapping an arm around her. “I’m here now. Lisa is going to be alright.”

Chaeyoung took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. “Hospitals bring back bad memories for me. I lost someone I cared about a long time ago, and ever since then, I can’t stand being in them.”

Jisoo listened, her heart breaking for Chaeyoung. “I understand. Hospitals aren’t easy for me either. I was in one for a long time after…well, after a lot of things went wrong in my life.”

Chaeyoung looked at her, her eyes filled with empathy. “I’m so sorry, Jisoo. I didn’t know.”

“It’s okay,” Jisoo said, squeezing her hand. “We all have our fears. What’s important is that we’re here for each other.”

Chaeyoung nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Thank you for understanding.”

They sat there on the curb, holding each other close. Jisoo felt a renewed sense of hope and determination. No matter what challenges lay ahead, she knew she could face them as long as she had Chaeyoung by her side.

The next morning, they returned to the hospital to check on Lisa. She was sitting up in bed, looking tired but alert. Jisoo and Chaeyoung rushed to her side, relief washing over them.

“How are you feeling?” Jisoo asked, her voice filled with concern.

“Better,” Lisa replied with a weak smile. “Thanks to you two.”

“We’re just glad you’re okay,” Chaeyoung said, squeezing her hand.

Lisa looked at Jisoo, her eyes filled with gratitude. “Thank you for staying with me, Jisoo. I don’t know what I would have done without you.”

“We’re in this together, Lisa,” Jisoo said, her voice firm. “We’ll get through this. All of us.”

As they sat together, Jisoo felt a sense of resolve. She would protect the people she loved and find a way to expose the truth. She would bring justice to those who had wronged her and make sure they could never hurt anyone again.

For now, though, she focused on the present, cherishing the moments she had with Chaeyoung and Lisa. They were her family, and she would do whatever it took to keep them safe.

Once they were sure Lisa was comfortable and had everything she needed, Jisoo and Chaeyoung left the hospital to get some fresh air. They walked hand in hand, feeling the weight of the recent events slowly lifting off their shoulders. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the city.

Chaeyoung stopped by a small park near the hospital and sat down on a bench, pulling Jisoo down with her. She leaned her head on Jisoo’s shoulder, taking in the peaceful surroundings.

“Jisoo, I’m sorry I couldn’t be stronger back there,” Chaeyoung said quietly. “I wanted to be there for you and Lisa, but I just couldn’t handle it.”

“Don’t apologize,” Jisoo replied, her voice gentle. “You’ve been so strong through all of this. We all have our limits, and it’s okay to need a break.”

Chaeyoung nodded, appreciating Jisoo’s understanding. “I just hate feeling so helpless.”

“You’re not helpless,” Jisoo said, turning to face her. “You’re one of the strongest people I know. And we’ll get through this together, just like we always do.”

Chaeyoung smiled, feeling reassured by Jisoo’s words. “Thank you, Jisoo. I needed to hear that.”

They sat in comfortable silence for a while, watching the sun dip below the horizon. The sky was painted in hues of orange and pink, a beautiful contrast to the turmoil they had been through.

“Do you want to go for a walk?” Jisoo asked after a while, standing up and holding out her hand.

Chaeyoung nodded, taking Jisoo’s hand and standing up. They walked through the park, talking about everything and nothing, finding solace in each other’s company. The night air was cool and refreshing, a welcome change from the tension they had been feeling.

As they made their way back to the hospital, Jisoo’s phone buzzed with a message from Jennie. She read it quickly, her eyes widening.

“What is it?” Chaeyoung asked, noticing the change in Jisoo’s expression.

“It’s from Jennie."
