Two days passed,

and you both found yourselves on a bridge overlooking a small water lake. The serene sound of the water did little to calm your nerves. You stood side by side, gazing at the gentle ripples below.

Taehyung silently observed your side profile, his eyes scanning your face and taking in every detail of your beauty. The way the sunlight danced on your skin made you look ethereal.

How much he wished to worship your goddess-like face, to lose himself in your presence. But he held himself back.

He knew, or maybe he had convinced himself, that someone like him didn't deserve someone like you. Taking a deep breath, he broke the silence.

"So," he began, his voice low and hesitant, "why did you call me here?" You tore your gaze away from the water and set it on Taehyung, who immediately looked away, unable to meet your eyes.

"So, did you find something to fix the situation?" you asked, trying to keep your tone neutral. He sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"I'm trying," he admitted.

Frustration bubbled up within you.

"Why don't you just tell your parents you don't want to marry?" you pressed.

"Why are they forcing you? At Least tell me the freaking reason Taehyung" His eyes darkened at your question, and he slightly clenched his jaw. You instantly regretted asking.

"It's okay if you're uncomfortable-" you began, but he cut you off, his voice harsh and raw.

"My mother is in the last stage of lung cancer," he said, each word weighed down with pain and frustration. Your heart dropped at his words.

Taehyung looked directly into your eyes, his gaze devoid of emotion, it felt like you were staring into an endless void. The pain in his gaze was palpable, a deep-seated anguish that made your knees weak.

"My mother wants me to get married and settle before..."

His voice cracked, the words hanging heavy in the air, unable to finish the sentence.

The sentence he couldn't complete spoke volumes, and the sorrow etched into his features was almost too much to bear. You felt a profound ache in your chest, your eyes softening with empathy and understanding.

You reached out, trying to hold his face. But he immediately backed away, turning his head to look at the water instead.

"Taehyung, I'm so sorry," you whispered, your voice trembling with the depth of your emotions.
