THE NEXT DAY AT SCHOOL EVERYTHING WENT by like usual. matt was currently driving everyone, except mai to school. it wasn't raining anymore so she just walked instead.
matt looked at zoe in the passenger seat and saw that she looked nervous? she was a lot more quiet, but she wasn't on her phone. once matt got to a red light he turned to face her and started speaking low, for only her to hear his voice.
"you okay? you seem nervous about something" zoe looks up at matt and replies back to him, "yeah im fine.." she quickly looked away from his as the light turned red above of the road.
matt continued driving as he grew worried for her.
once they all arrived at school, zoe was quick to walk inside, not even saying anything to matt. "wha- i'll see you later?!" matt yelled out catching her attention as she looked back and smiled awkwardly before running off inside.
"what with her?" chris asks walking next to his brother. "i don't know.."
as everyone walks inside, chris and eli part from the group to go look for mai. they went to the back of the school and found her underneath the stairs, reading a book.
"hey mai" chris speaks up sitting next to her as eli sits across. "hi guys" she smiles at them, "you know you don't always have to come back here with me" she says putting her book down.
"yeah well we just wanna make sure your okay" eli assures her, giving her a soft smile. "yeah,and plus, we have 5th period right now anyways" chris says while throwing his arm around her.
