The plane landed shortly in another country. Helena got off the plane carefully. As she reached the airport exit, a car awaited her. She smiled, feeling relieved as she saw him.

"Hey", the man said as he ran and hugged her tightly.

"Hi, Daxton", Helena said, her voice thick with emotion.

"How are you? How is my little champ", Daxton asked as he playfully.

"Just made it somehow, Dax. Maybe the little one is giving me this strength", Helena said while caressing her bump.

"Maybe. Now, you do not have to worry. I am here and I will not let you fight alone. Let's sit in the car", Daxton said as he led her to his car.

"Do you want to eat first", Daxton asked as he helped her buckle up.

Helena shook her head in a no.

"Dax, please drop me quickly. It would help if you were not harmed by Edwin this time. Although I have been more careful with everything this time, we cannot underestimate him. He is the mafia boss", she said worriedly.

"Yeah, you are right. By the way, I am impressed at your presence of mind. I never thought you could reach out to me by a random document. Now, tell me everything in detail", Daxton said as he leaned closer to her.

"Not here, Dax. Let's reach home", she said nervously.

"Fine", Daxton said and started the engine.

The car drove across lush forests and open fields. After three hours, the car stopped in a secluded, yet beautiful area. A small neighborhood, with the basic facilities for survival. Daxton got out of the car and went to Helena's seat. After helping her out of the car, he led her into a cottage.

"I have made all the arrangements for you to stay here. Do not worry, Rachel and I will be visiting you here every day. Our home is roughly ten minutes away from here. Any problem, you can ring me on the landline. There is a hospital nearby in case of emergency. You just have to take care of yourself. I will be getting you cooked food here", Daxton said softly.

Helena looked at her loving brother with teary eyes.

"Hey, why are you crying", Daxton asked worriedly.

"Nothing. Just thinking how I managed to get a brother like you", she said while wiping her eyes.

"Don't wipe your eyes now. You will get them red and swollen like you did when you were a kid", Daxton said and wiped her tears with his thumbs.

Helena looked at him with her big doe eyes, and Daxton smiled at her. He recalled how she used to look at him with those eyes when she was a toddler. She would often break his stuff while doing mischief and then cry when he scolded her. He could never stay angry at her baby sister, she was so adorable.

"Okay, now go inside. I will get the stuff from the car, okay", he said while ruffling her hair.

Helena nodded. She entered the cottage. It was a nice, neat, and tiny place. She felt it peaceful and relaxing to be there. She sat on the couch.

"Helena, this carton has clothes for you. This place is usually warm so you will not need any sweaters. And this bag has a phone and a diary. All the emergency contacts are written on the first page of this diary", Daxton said as he entered the cottage.

He sat beside Helena and placed the lunchbox on the table. He got the dishes and bowls from the kitchen and settled everything on the table. He served the food on the utensils, handing her one plate.

"Now, tell me. How did you know he killed Sam", Daxton asked, his tone getting serious.

"Dax, he had the photos from his accident. I just cannot forget those moments. Sam would have been so hurt. It must have been a very terrible death. The car was compressed so badly that it could not even be recognized", Helena said, her voice cracking as she recalled those horrific moments again.

"And what did he say?"

"Nothing. He did not say a word. He just laughed", she said, breaking down into tears.

Daxton sighed. His eyes were burning with anger. He was angry at Edwin. He had seen his sister suffering so much. Accepting it as an accident was still easier to digest, but murder? That was too much to bear, considering that the one who did this to her was none other than her husband.

"But Dax, he told me that he would tell me the reason one day."

"What reason?"

"Why he killed him."

Daxton nodded silently, his head bowed low.

"I was very scared, Dax. I didn't think I would be able to run again. Not with my baby", she said while sobbing.

He looked at her with glistening eyes and pulled her in his arms.

"I am sorry I could not protect you, sweetheart. Your brother is very sorry", he said while sniffling as he patted her back to calm her down."

"It is not your fault, Dax. Edwin has such powerful connections that we cannot practically fight against him."

"But I am so proud of you. Despite everything, you ran. You are such a strong girl, my baby", he said while wiping his eyes.

He fed her the food slowly, letting her rest against his forehead.

"Do you remember, you would not eat anything whenever Mom and Dad scolded you? Then I would feed you just like this, and you would eat everything", Daxton reminisced with a nostalgic smile.

"Yeah. And now look. We both grew up and went to college. Mom and Dad passed away, and now it's only us again. Time flies so fast, Dax", Helena said sadly.

"Now, don't feel disheartened. This is the law of nature. Time is not under anyone's control. We can just remember the good times if we want this to stay worth it, right?"

Helena nodded and hugged her brother tightly.

"I love you, Dax."

"I love you too, baby."
