20XX, Unknown Month and Day
Marshal - 7 years old in this chapter

Leroy, a French friend of Marshal's father, had just arrived at Marshal's house at night.

He put the parking brake on and brought Marshal to the front door of the house. The lights were open.

Marshal, his height basically the height of Leroy's leg (Leroy is 6 feet), tugs the sleeve of his uncle, noticing that he paused as he opened the door slightly.
-...
"What's wrong uncle?" Marshal asked as he looked up at Leroy.
-..
The front door was left open. He noticed a sign of forced entry. His eyes were widened slightly.

"Nothing, Marshal. Come in." Leroy's demeanor switched back to normal to avoid panicking the child.
..-
They walked inside and Marshal giggled as he ran to the couch.
-.-.
Leroy immediately scanned the whole house - the kitchen, the living room, the washrooms, even the bedrooms.

The blond child's parents weren't there.
-
Leroy noticed a note at the bedside table.
.
He picked it up and read it.

"Uncle? Where's mom and dad?" Marshal shouted from the living room, still oblivious to the dire situation.

Leroy slid the note, in his pocket and walked quickly to Marshal.
-..
As he approached the child, he crouched in front of him, placing his hands on his shoulders.

"Hey kiddo, how about you sleep at my house for the next few weeks? You know, a sleepover with Lannes? Only that this is gonna be a long one."

Marshal gasped and nodded rapidly.

"Yes! Yes! I wanna be with Lannes!"

"I'll go pack your stuff, just wait here, okay?"

Marshal nods and giggles again as Leroy walks to Marshal's bedroom.

"I should probably get them to find his parents.." Leroy whispered to himself as he packed Marshal's stuff.

"Those sick fanatics must have done this.. Merde.."
