(Y/N) folded the blankets on her bed, slowly humming to herself before hearing a whirl of wind coming behind her. 'Seriously? Who left the window's open again...' Her train of thought trailed off as she was suddenly sucked up into a dark colored portal.

"Woah!" (Y/N) screamed as she fell to a checkered floor. She groaned, rubbing her head before standing up.

"(Y/N) (L/N), you are finally here." A man with a checkered face said. He wore a black crown and sat on a thrown with a smile. "I'm glad you could finally make it."

"Okay... Who are you again?" (Y/N) asked. The man in the crown grunted.

"I am going to be challenging the King of The White Tower." The man smiled, "But, my queen seems to be missing from my board."

"Yeah, for obvious reasons. I mean, who decorated this? It's hideous." (Y/N) said, looking around with a dazed expression. Everything was dark and moody colored, it definitely wasn't to (Y/N)'s liking.

"Do not mock me, (Y/N)!" The man said loudly, walking down to meet the girl. (Y/N) crossed her arms, unimpressed at her situation. "You will play with me against the King of The White Tower, as it is my destiny to defeat him."

"Okay, and who is this 'King of The White Tower' exactly?" (Y/N) asked curiously, weary of the man in front of her as she pursed her lips.

"An old friend of yours." The king smiled, "You will become my queen for eternity, if they shall lose. If they win, they can have you back. Which is highly unlikely."

(Y/N) backed away and shook her head, "Um... I'm good... See, I've got chores to do and-"

"Silence! You will do as I say, or I will hurt the people you love the most." The man threatened angrily, "Now, let's begin your transformation, shall we?"

"The King of The White Tower." The man on the throne smiled wickedly, "I challenge you to a game of chess."

"I don't know who you think we are, but there's no King of the Tower here." Shiloh spoke up, concern brewing in her face.

"Oh but there is, he's right there." The man pointed to Judah, who froze before looking behind him and hiding behind Josiah.

"He's still pointing at me, isn't he?" Judah whispered.

"Yep," Josiah swallowed nervously.

"The challenge, what's it for?" Shiloh asked curiously. Of course, her and (Y/N) were supposed to go on a mission. And she definitely had a hunch that something about this man had a connection to (Y/N)'s sudden disappearance.

"It is the birth right of The King of The Dark Castle to challenge The King of The White Tower for his right to rule this land." The man opened his hands to reveal four chess pieces, two black and two white. "When you challenged Marcus in the game of chess, you became the King of White Tower. It is my destiny to strike you down and lead this land into an era of darkness."

"One shall stand. One shall fall." The man closed his hands with a loud echo before looking at the people standing before him.

"Pass!" Judah laughed awkwardly, "I choose life, uh, thanks though, really. I love what you've done with the place, you know, our friend (Y/N) would've loved it."

"Well, it seems like you don't know your friend very well." The King of The Dark Castle smiled, "There is no denying the challenge."

"I will warn you though! I have never lost to a chess grandmaster." Judah said with a threatening tone.
