We didn’t waste any time. With Superman leading the charge, Volcana and I followed close behind as we stormed into LexCorp. The building was an imposing structure, a testament to Luthor's wealth and power. But none of that mattered now. What mattered was getting Kara back.

Superman’s fists smashed through the reinforced doors like they were made of paper, and we burst into the lobby. Alarms blared, and security personnel scrambled to intercept us, but they were no match for our combined might.

"Stand down!" Superman ordered, his voice booming. "We’re here for Lex Luthor."

The guards hesitated, clearly torn between their orders and the very real threat we posed. Volcana didn’t give them time to decide. With a wave of her hand, she sent a wall of fire surging toward them, forcing them to scatter.

We moved through the building with purpose, each step bringing us closer to Luthor. The resistance grew stronger the higher we went, but we pushed through. Superman’s heat vision cut through barriers, and Volcana’s flames cleared our path. I focused on using my strength to smash through anything that stood in our way.

Finally, we reached Luthor’s private lab. The doors were sealed, but Superman’s punch reduced them to rubble. We stormed inside, finding Luthor waiting for us, flanked by a squad of heavily armed guards.

"Luthor!" Superman shouted, his eyes blazing with anger. "Where is Kara?"

Luthor smirked, clearly unperturbed by our arrival. "Superman, always so dramatic. Your little friend is quite safe. For now."

I felt a surge of rage and stepped forward. "Let her go, Luthor. This ends now."

Luthor raised an eyebrow, his expression amused. "I don’t think you’re in any position to make demands, Boundless"

Before we could react, the guards opened fire. Superman moved at lightning speed, his body a blur as he deflected bullets and disarmed the attackers. Volcana unleashed a torrent of fire, forcing the remaining guards to retreat.

Luthor activated his suit, and the green energy crackled around him. "You’ve made a grave mistake coming here."

Superman and I charged at him simultaneously. Luthor’s suit absorbed my blows, but Superman's attacks had a noticeable effect. I could see the strain in Luthor’s eyes as he tried to fend us off.

Volcana joined the fray, her flames adding to the pressure. Luthor fought back fiercely, but it was clear he was struggling to keep up. I landed a solid punch to his chest, denting the armor and causing him to stagger.

"This is for Kara!" I shouted, delivering another blow.

Luthor’s suit sparked and sputtered, and he fell to one knee. "You... you can’t win," he gasped, trying to regain his footing.

Superman seized the opportunity, tearing the armor off piece by piece. Luthor’s smirk vanished, replaced by genuine fear.

"Where is she, Luthor?" Superman demanded, his voice like steel.

Luthor glared at us, but the fight had left him. "She’s in the sub-basement. You’ll never reach her in time."

Ignoring his taunt, we raced to the sub-basement. The corridors were a maze, but with Superman’s X-ray vision and my super speed, we navigated them quickly. We burst into the final chamber, finding Kara strapped to a table, surrounded by high-tech equipment.

Superman and I rushed to her side, freeing her from the restraints. Kara’s eyes fluttered open, and she managed a weak smile. "Took you long enough."

I laughed, relief flooding through me. "We’re here now. Let’s get you out of here."

Volcana stood guard at the door, ensuring no one could follow us. We made our way back through the labyrinth of corridors, emerging into the night air.

As we flew away from LexCorp, I glanced back, a sense of triumph filling me. Luthor had been defeated, and Kara was safe. But I knew this was only the beginning. There would be more battles, more challenges ahead. But we were ready.

Later, on the rooftop of a nearby building, we regrouped. Superman placed a hand on my shoulder, his expression proud. "You did well, Cornelius. You fought bravely."

Kara nodded, her strength returning. "Thank you for coming for me. I knew you would."

I smiled, the weight of the day’s events lifting. "We’re a team. We look out for each other."

Volcana grinned, her fiery spirit undimmed. "And we kick some serious ass while we’re at it."

Superman looked out over the city, a sense of purpose in his eyes. "We’ll always be there to protect Metropolis. No matter what."

Superman was looking over a few monitors. He was watching Kara and Volcana as they trained with Wonder Woman. I noticed the smile on his face and couldn't help but ask, "Why haven't you asked her out yet?"

Superman turned to me, surprised. "What do you mean?"

I shrugged, pointing at the screen. "You and Wonder Woman. You clearly like her. Why not give it a shot?"

He shook his head, a slight smile playing on his lips. "I care about her, but I like Lois Lane."

I raised an eyebrow. "Superman, Lois is amazing, but she's human. You're Kryptonian. Genetically, you two are incompatible. You know that, right?"

He frowned, considering my words. "I've thought about it, but it's complicated."

"Wonder Woman, on the other hand," I continued, "is half god. She could carry a Kryptonian child and not die from it. You two would be perfect together."

Superman looked thoughtful, his gaze returning to the monitor where Wonder Woman was expertly sparring with Kara and Volcana. "It's not that simple, Cornelius."

"But it could be," I insisted. "You owe it to yourself to at least explore the possibility."

He remained silent for a moment, watching the training session intently. When it ended, Wonder Woman called for a break, and the three women started chatting and laughing together.

Superman stood up, his decision made. "Maybe you're right. It's worth a conversation."

I watched as he flew down to the training area, landing gracefully beside Wonder Woman. She looked up, her expression curious. They exchanged a few words, and then he motioned for her to follow him.

As they walked away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Superman deserved to be happy, and maybe this was a step in the right direction.

I turned my attention back to the monitors, keeping an eye on the city. It was a rare moment of calm, but I knew it wouldn't last. In our line of work, it never did.

After a while, I saw Kara and Volcana heading my way. Kara had a bright smile on her face, her energy infectious. "Hey, Cornelius! How's it going up here?"

"Just keeping an eye on things," I replied, grinning. "You two look like you had a good workout."

Volcana nodded, her fiery hair glowing even brighter from the exertion. "Wonder Woman doesn't mess around. She really knows how to push you."

Kara glanced around, noticing the absence of Superman. "Where did Clark go?"

"He went to talk to Wonder Woman," I said, a knowing look in my eyes.

Kara raised an eyebrow. "Oh? About what?"

I shrugged. "Just some personal stuff. They'll be back soon."

Volcana smirked, catching on quickly. "I see. Well, good for them."
