Tala stepped into the vet office, glancing around as she did so.

"Hello?" She called out. "Alan?"

There was a scrambling noise from the back, and then Alan Deaton came around the corner. His jaw was dropped.

"Tala," he said, beginning to smile.

"Hey there," she smirked.

He stepped out through the gate, approaching her to greet her with a hug.

"What are you doing back?" he asked, pulling away to look at her.

"Well, I heard there was a new alpha in town," she grinned. "Our very own Derek Hale."

"Oh yes," Alan said. "For quite a while now."

Tala sighed. "I also heard there were some old alphas back in town."

Alan frowned. "Also true."

She smirked. "I think I'm ready to see him again. Remind him who I am."

"Derek?" Alan asked.

She shook her head. "Trust me, he remembers who I am. I'm referring to the other Alpha."

"Ah," Alan said. "Of course."

The bell behind Tala rang, and Alan looked over her shoulder at the person entering the vet.

"Sorry I'm late," the voice said. "We got a little caught up..."

Tala turned to the figure, seeing a teenage boy before her. He furrowed his brows.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"Tala," she said. "I'm an old friend."

Alan stepped forward, gesturing to the teenage boy. "This is Scott. He works for me."

"Of course," Tala said. "I used to work for him. Back when I was your age." Her eyes narrowed on him as a scent began to hit her nose. "But you work more with the dogs, don't you?"

He nodded. "The cats don't really like me."

"Right," she said. "It was the opposite for me. The dogs didn't really like me all that much. But they listened when I forced them to."

Scott's brows furrowed. "Werecat?" He asked.

Tala chuckled. "What, you know one?"

He shrugged. "I might."

She smirked. "Well, you've never met one of my kind, I'm sure of it."

"What are you?" Scott asked.

"I'm similar to your werecat friend," she explained. "But older, of course, if I had to guess. This town loves their teenage supernaturals. Always has."

"Your point?" Scott asked.

"I'm getting there," she grinned. "I'm not quite a werecat."

She turned to Scott, closing her eyes. Claws began to extend from her fingers and her face began to change its shape. When she opened her eyes, they were orange–similar to Kira's but something was different about them.

Then, when Scott just about thought she was done transforming, lines began to appear on her skin. They were light, almost not even visible, but he was certain they were there. They seemed to be orange, stretching across her pale skin. There was a familiar shape to them, also.

Scott's eyes widened.

"A weretiger," he said.

"Yup," Tala confirmed, transforming back into her normal, human self.

"I didn't know those were real," Scott said. "I read about them while we were searching for the Kanima last school year."

"A Kanima?" Tala asked, turning to Alan. "That's a new one for Beacon Hills."

"A lot has happened since you left," Alan sighed.

"So I've heard," Tala grinned. "Heard about the new Hale alpha."

"Oh, that's Derek," Scott informed her.

"Trust me, kid," she chuckled. "I know Derek." Tala sighed, clapping her hands together. "Speaking of, it was lovely to see you two, but I need to go." She started towards the door, stopping to talk to Scott. "I'll see you later, kid, I'm sure."

She waved with her fingers, leaving Scott McCall in confusion as to what could possibly have called the weretiger back to Beacon Hills.
