"Surprised ya aren't sparring blue guy." Mori lifted her head, rolling her eyes as her brother came to a stop. Encased in the morn's soft glow, he ticked a brow. "Bored of him already?"

She scoffed, muttering they agreed on a break this morning. He had to help his friends pack after all. They were leaving today, she reminded her brother. Yamiyo hummed, swooshing snow from the log she sat atop.

With a huff, he plopped beside her. "A shame. Just when I was enjoying my break." He stretched his arms.

Mori elbowed him. "Mira agreed to spar after my arm healed." He hummed.

"Just yer arm? —How lenient of her," he said, perching forward to watch the village light up for the new day, "must've been nice though. Another swordsfighter." Softly, she agreed.

She snapped up as he teased her. He assumed she'd miss the redhead but the blue dude too? Hopelessly falling for strangers as usual. Tisk, tisk still so childish.

She fumed. "Nuh uh!"

"Uh-huh." She kicked him as he cracked up. "Yer face says it all, bright eyes."

As she huffed, shoving her mask down, he cracked another laugh. With a smile, he breezed back to watch the village. It bustled slow this morning, shades and people alike sluggish to begin the day.

Mori peeked back when her brother sighed. "They weren't so bad I guess..."

Barely a whisper but she heard him. Quietly, she smiled and hummed. It was a great two weeks...

He yawned, stretching again. "They're fine— let's head back." His sister blinked, watching him push to his feet.

She glanced back beyond the sun-crested rice paddies. "You sure?" He paused, glancing too.

"Yeah. Why not? Let's go." With that, he brisked off with a whistle. She blinked again.

Hesitant, the swordswoman spared one more look to the village. With a sigh, she hopped up and took off after her brother.

Right. They'd be fine. Why wouldn't they be?

Yamiyo's whistling stuttered as she matched his pace. "Check the trail for new runners then back— kay?" he said, and she glanced at the tattered snow paths. They were painted with the usual tracks, but a quick recheck never hurt.

Firmly, she nodded, skipping along the edge of the trail. Her brother watched her bolt ahead, and with a sigh, he returned to humming.

Distant, he recognized familiar chirps as they mimicked his melody. As he tried to ignore them, he noted the dead woman was absent. He blinked, tune faltering as he glanced about for her. Nothing— just bland shades. Shrug.

Mori noted his pause. "Where do you think they'll go?" she asked. He blinked, inquiring with a hum. "Yona and the others."

Lazy, he paused to ponder. A scowl befell his face instead.

"'I'll never know,'" he said, tisking as he sauntered ahead. His sister blanked.

Back to skipping, she shook her head. "Probably somewhere sunny and nice," she said, sparkling as she turned to the sun. He hummed.

"Jealous?" She paused. He laughed. "Spring's almost here, bright eyes. Ya know that right?"

"Yeah, but it's not the same," she muttered, and he glanced back as she brushed the pines, "don't you miss the lack of snow and needles?" He sighed.

"I guess," he said, eyes tracing the flecks of sky beyond the canopy of pines, "it has been a while."

She agreed. "I miss the ocean~"
