Chapter 16

-Miracle Astor-

"P-please leave." I quietly whispered, repeating myself again.

I tightly hold on to Gabriel not wanting to let go and not wanting him to let me go while also burying my face in his chest as I shut my eyes close. I didn't want to look at my brother, I didn't want him to look at me.

He already knows what happened.

"Give her some time, man. She's safe here, I'm going to take care of her, I promise." I hear Gabriel telling my brother.

I believe him as well. I put all my trust in him the moment I passed out. At the moment, Gabriel who I just met for over a month is the only person I trust in this world.

"Alright, fine. I'm not going to force you, sweetheart." My brother lets out a defeated sigh. I could tell it took all of him to say that because I know he's the kind of person who always gets everything he wants, so I'm grateful that he respected my decision.

I don't want to go home just yet.

If Damion knows then the twins and Corbin most probably knows as well.

I don't really want to see my brothers at the moment. I don't want to think. I don't want any stress.

"But if you ever need anything and I mean anything, I'm only one phone call away, okay? I'm going to go now."

"Take care of her, please."

I hear him saying and there was a short pause before I hear the door opening and closing again.

"He's gone now, baby." Gabriel whispers to me. I lightly blushed at the nickname. Since when did he start calling me that?

"I-I know... But can I hug you just for a little while?"

"Please?" I added.

I don't want to let go, I don't ever want to let go. He feels so safe and comforting. And I want that, I desperately needed that. Since dad died, he's the only one who ever gave me that.

"Of course. You can hug me anytime you want and for how long you want. I'm always here for you, Miracle." I felt him placing a kiss on top of my head making me smile as I felt my whole body finally able to relax, I was finally able to breathe even just a little bit.

I don't need to fear Quinton anymore, right?

My eyes widened in surprise and I almost yelped when he suddenly moved his hand and carried me by the back of my thighs. He did it with such ease that I almost weighed nothing on him.

"It's alright, I'm just going to move us by the couch." Gabriel says as soon as he plops down and move me to sit in his lap while I'm still tightly holding onto him like a koala.

"Is this okay? Please tell me if I'm doing anything that makes you feel uncomfortable and I'll quickly stop." He sounded worried, but I only nod and rested the side of my head to his chest not really wanting to talk, the rhythm of his heart beat is slow and steady, it's quite comforting to hear.

"How's your head? Is it still hurting?" He asked and I shook my head.

When I woke up I no longer felt light-headed and my vision was back to normal again, although my head is still slightly aching but it's tolerable.

"My aunt was the one who treated you earlier by the way, she's a doctor. I called her since I don't really think it's wise to bring you to the hospital. And well she also advised that I go to your brothers and tell them. I'm sorry, baby."
