Chapter 42

-3rd Person's POV-

"Sixteen years ago, your father hunted down this fucker's rapist father and delivered him to my father. Now, I hunted down this fucker to deliver him to you."

Gabriel looked up, his eyes blurred and filled with tears as he saw Maddox Astor standing in front of him looking like he just got back from hell himself, both his fist freshly bruised and bloody, then he threw the said fucker right in front of him, like some kind of a sacrificial offer to the grieving boy.

"Give em' hell."

No one deserves to finish this asshole more than Gabriel. Maddox thought to himself.

And hell is what Gabriel is going to give.

Maddox's words stirred something deep inside of him, and as he looked at the man thrown in front of him, the man responsible for starting the lifelong pain inside his heart, the demons he tightly kept caged and controlled inside him for so long finally broke free and is ready to wreak havoc.

The man in front of him is the real Claude Laurent.

The one who took and hurt his girl.

The one who killed his father.

The two most important people in his life, one gone and one barely holding on.

This was the worst day of his life.

His world had suddenly become a muted canvas, painted in shades of gray. At that moment the bright laughter and adoration had died in his beloved father's eyes, replaced by a chilling stillness until it forever closed.

And that moment the vibrant spark in Miracle's soul had flickered and is currently threatening to extinguish. Holding and feeling her soft body, covered in blood, and seeing all of that bruises, scars, and whip marks in her face and at her back.

His father, Alessandro Dmitriy Vasiliev Di Luca, a man who had always been a pillar of strength, arguably one of the most dangerous men in the world, was now gone. That same man who almost never gets shot and hated seeing his own blood spill, intentionally got himself shot and bled to death all to protect his most beloved son. His passing now forever left a gaping hole inside Gabriel's heart. The memory of his lifeless eyes, the cold, hard stillness of his hand in his, haunted him. It was a wound that he knew would never heal.

And his precious girl...

Miracle Aurora Astor, his one true love, his purpose, had been unfairly caught in a whirlwind of unfair cruelty once again. The memory of her terror, the way her voice had cracked as she screamed, cried, and begged his name, haunted him as well. The sight of her, unconscious, pale, and trembling body, her body bearing the scars of the attack, had ripped through Gabriel like a jagged shard of glass.

Gabriel felt like he was losing his mind.

He wanted to rip his heart out of his chest and throw it with the way that is hurting. Not only his heart though, all of him was screaming in pain.

And this was all this man's fault.

"Where are you taking my sister?! She's mine! Mine! All mine! How dare y---" Claude went absolutely ballistic, getting on his knees despite his own injuries, as his gray eyes found his half-sister in the gurney being transported inside the ambulance.

He was going to lose her again. He thought, and that terrified him.

He couldn't go through life alone again, nothing was worse for this deranged man than to be abandoned and left alone. Miracle was the only family he had left, the precious last gift left to him by his father. Claude feels like he would die if he lost her again after just getting her.
