CONTRITE HEARTS

CHAPTER TWO

Do we often get used to pain?
I doubt we do, we just learn to live with some things and one of the things Aisha would eventually learn to live with is the fact that yahya is gone and he isn't gonna come back, everyone has moved on from the shock except perhaps she, when she saw how badly damaged the car was in a picture she wasn't surprised that even the two lives that claimed to survived died 3 days after the accident, it was horrific the incident has become topic of the town and social media hasn't done anything less than pity on her, it's been 3 weeks yet it seems like just yesterday, her furnitures was sold out as her sister told her but none of that is her concern she wished theirs a cure for dead, all she does is go through memories reading their chat and listening to Yahya VN, he was a lovable person, and his love for her was limitless, why did this happened to her?

"Aisha!"her step mother call entering the bedroom.

Her sisters got admission into the Nursing school they left 2 weeks ago to stay in the hostel because it's easier than the expensive transport fare everyday, her junior brother also went to write the NDA exam it's just she alone at home grieving as usual.

"Aren't you supposed to be going to the camp today?
Aisha please let go,
even the Yahya mum I saw her at the market yesterday she was looking Alhamdulilah,
Take this as qadr, or do you want to question the almighty?"her step mum ask and Aisha just stare at her, the tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I missed him."Aisha says breaking down as her step mother embrace her.

"If you missed the dead you pray for them not you crying all the time,
Please kukan nan ya isa
For the past 3 weeks you have been doing same thing you have loss weight,
Kin lalace
Please, if you need more time to prepare yourself to move on you have all the time,
Abdullahi is in town if he comes I will ask if he can help you out so you can perhaps skip the camp use the period to get rid of everything and hold the little memories,
We are all gonna die,
Yahya is gone and Insha Allah he's in a better place,
Stand up and freshen up,
If Abdullahi come I will talk to him to see if he can do something for you to stay at home I never liked the idea of going to that camp anyway."Her step mother says and clean her tears.

"Salamu'alaikum."the familiar voice say from the parlor.

"Toh the Abdullahi is even here,
Let me go and meet him,
I will talk to him."her step mother says and leave the bedroom making her to sigh.
She heard them exchanging pleasantries and she comes down from the bed, she enter the bedroom and the tap isn't running which makes her to sigh, she grab the bucket and leave the bedroom.

"Good morning."she greet Abdullahi who give her an irritated look.

"Is that the reason she won't go to camp?
Was she married to him?
Well, even if she is married to him by now I believe she should understand qadr,
She should get ready I'm dropping her at the camp,
I'm going there anyway to see a friend."he says and Aisha wasn't surprised at all, Abdullahi had never been one who is nice to anyone, he doesn't talk much and when he does his words are usually like an acid on the human skin.

She grab the bucket with a sniff and leave the parlor to get the water from the outside tap, the process to get ready was slow for her and she wasn't surprised when her Aunt told her Abdullahi left and said to call him when she was done, by the time she was done packing the weather had cascade ready for a downpour, she was sitting in the parlor waiting as she scroll through her phone as usual watching memories with Yahya that always bring smile sometimes to her face while other times bring tears.
