-Melody-
Melody woke to the sun rays shedding light into her room and practically blinding her. She shot up and close the curtains.
She walked to her closet and put on some new clothes, in complete boredom. Hoping that today was going to be at least okay.
She was wrong.
Melody shot down the street pleading to herself that her mom wouldn't get a call from school. She was not even half way to school and there was a minute left.
When she finally reached school she was 15 minutes late. She felt awful. So with the energy she had left she checked into the front office, hoping they would just let her go to class. And thankfully they did.
When Melody reached her first class she knocked on the door and was let in. As she trudged to the back of the class, all eyes were on her. Melody immediately hated today.(🎶little do you know-🎶)
First period trudged along. Melody wasn't paying attention. She was out of it. She did not feel like spending another day at school. School sucks. The problem with school is the fact that the teachers can be sexist, racist, or simply do not give a shit what students say or do.
When Melody was sitting in fourth period silently. Jackson being silent and reserved. Vivian seemingly trying to start a conversation. Though no matter what anyone really talked about with her would bring her mood up.
That's when the warning was heard.
The intercom rang for a second then an alert voice spoke,"Hello students! Teachers please lock classroom doors and make sure all students are in a classroom. There is a man threatening the front office. Everyone be safe!"
As soon as she finished speaking chaos ensued.
The popular girls were crying as the boys snickered in a circle. What they were laughing at? Melody would never know. Pounding footsteps could be heard echoing through the halls. Everyone fell silent.
That's when the door came falling down to the ground with a deafening crack. A tall man in a black trench coat stood at the door. He looked over everyone. Mr.White stood up to confront the man. He collapsed to the ground unconscious before he could say a word. Everyone around Melody passed out. Except for Vivian and Jackson. That's when Luna appeared out of no where and had them fall to the ground with her.
The man's banging steps echoed down the hall as he left.
Luna spoke first,"No time for questions. We need to find Leo and get out of here."
Luna ran out the door as Melody,Vivian, and Jackson followed.
They reached a door that had already been knocked down and Luna walked through as the three behind her followed. Leo was sitting under the teachers desk when he saw them. Leo stood up and all of them stood there silently.
Luna, once again, was the first to speak,"Come on I know a way out." Once again she went running off expecting them to followed. So they did.
Every class room they passed had the door knocked down and unconscious students and teachers. They reached outside where it was silent except for some birds singing peacefully.
Every car had someone in it but they were unconscious. Breathing. But asleep.Luna ran right past them and towards the normal direction Melody, Luna, and Leo go when walking home. Everyone followed her, questioning everything. The fact that everyone they passed, including children, were unconscious.
Once Luna decided to stop she turned to everyone,"Who here has a place for everyone to stay at?" Leo grinned and raised his hand."Ms.Ott! I have a place!" Luna grinned,"Alright take us there."
Leo led the way towards a large house. The type of house you wouldn't expect Leo to live in. Though he walked right up to the door and unlocked it.
Everyone walked in and marveled at the fact that half of his house was a workshop and the other half was a library. In the middle stood a hallway, most likely leading to the kitchen and rooms.
Leo spread his arms as he walked backwards,"Welcome to my dwelling! I shall show the rooms you all shall stay in!" With that he went running down the hallway. Jackson was the first to run after him. Then Vivian. Then Melody and Luna followed up the back.
Once everyone was shown their rooms they quickly found the kitchen. Leo was the first to speak,"Alright what the heck is going on?"
Luna looked at him,"Oh I don't know maybe some big guy is hunting you guys?"
Vivian spoke,"And how would you know that?"
Luna whipped her head around,"Oh I don't know! Maybe the fact that I was sent here to make sure you guys don't Die?!"
Jackson glared daggers at her,"What the fuck do you mean."
Luna sighed,"alright. So this big guy in a trench coat is trying to kill you guys because you have abilities that not many possess."Jackson slammed his fist against the island,"I don't want the shit about us being special! Tell me why the fuck this guy wants to kill us over it!"
Luna yelled,"Cause he think you shouldn't be alive!" Jackson glared at her,"And?!"The kitchen grew quiet. Leo held up a box of donuts,"Donuts anyone?" Jackson yelled,"No! We are being hunted! I don't want any donuts!" Leo rolled his eyes,"That's what everyone says." Then he whispers to Vivian,"Don't worry. I'll shatter that hard shell around him and make him be nice." Vivian smiled at him and whispered,"Thanks."
Everyone continued to snack on donuts as Jackson stood in the corner shaking his head. Clearly disappointed that we aren't reacting how he is.
That's how the rest of the night drew out. Snacking. Reading. Talking. Everyone just wanted to clear their heads and talk about it tomorrow and Melody couldn't blame them.
Melody kept texting her dad but he wouldn't respond. Obviously. The whole town was knocked out. She just wished she could talk to him. That's when a song came from her phone.
Hi guys! So I decided that I'll write my book every other week. I may put out multiple chapters a week though! So stay tuned!
