The next day you wake up for classes, walking with Draco as always. You didn't have any classes with Theo today, thank God, and you knew he had quidditch practice right after class.

You didn't want to talk to him anyways, especially after last night's events. You had really appreciated Mattheo basically telling him to fuck off but you hadn't seen him to thank him yet.

You had your last class with Mattheo so hopefully he'd be there, you felt you needed to thank him. It seemed like a small gesture but you had a feeling that he knew just how much it actually meant.

You go through the day as normal, not seeing Theo once. Too bad it's almost the weekend, you wouldn't be able to avoid him for long. You walk up to your divination class, Mattheo's seat empty.

He was always one of the first to sit so maybe he missed classes today...

You get your book out and start fiddling with your bracelets before Mattheo sits down in his seat next to you.

You look up to him, "I thought you weren't coming"

"Why wouldn't I?" He asks with his eyebrows raised and a slight smile on his face.

"Uh-" you start until Trelawney starts speaking, addressing the class.

"My dears today we will be looking at the omens that birds give to the world"

You look over to Mattheo, him looking back as you both try not to burst out in laughter.

Throughout the class, as Trelawney talked about birds, you and Mattheo would exchange glances quite often. Whenever he caught you looking, you would look away.

After class, you and Mattheo leave together, walking back to the Slytherin house.

"I actually think she's just always high because there's no way she can be that crazy," you laugh.

"Oh for sure, she's definitely smoking a big fat blunt before coming to class" Mattheo responds, laughing as he talks.

"Thank you" you blurt out, looking over to him as you walk.

"For what?" Mattheo asks, looking back.

"You didn't have to say something to Theo last night but you did and..." you pause as you stop walking, him following suit, "thank you"

"He doesn't deserve you." Mattheo mentions. He looks up from the floor to you, his head still angled down.

"Mattheo..." you trail off.

"I'm sorry but you deserve someone who shows up for you. Who doesn't take advantage of you." Mattheo reasons.

"I can't talk about this." You say as you start walking again, Mattheo following you.

"When are you going to stop ignoring how wrong he is for you?" Mattheo adds.

You stop and turn around, him practically running into you, "When are you going to accept that I'm with him and that's that?" You snap.

"That's that? Really?" Mattheo practically laughs, "I never took you as someone who lies to themselves to make themselves feel better."

"What is that supposed to mean?" You ask.

"You know what I mean. When are you going to wake up and realize that you deserve someone better?"

"Someone like you?" You snap back, staring into his eyes.

He doesn't respond, he just stares into your eyes for a moment before walking off without another word.

Only with Mattheo could a nice conversation turn into a fight so quickly. Even though you put on a strong facade, you felt like you were cracking inside. You knew Mattheo was right, Theo wasn't the one for you. But you wanted him to so badly be wrong.

You head back to the slytherin house and go back to your dorm, taking out your book and doing homework. Time slips by, you get most of your work done before you hear the door open.

You turn around to see Theo walking in, looking stressed and on edge.

"Hey" you say softly. You didn't want to talk to him but you knew you had to. You couldn't avoid it any longer.

"Adrian is bumping me to the bench." He blurts out as he starts pacing.

"What? Why?"

"Because he says that I'm not focused and I mean how could I be when my girlfriend won't talk to me or sleep with me and-"

"Woah wait hold on." You interrupt. He looks over at you and stops pacing, "you cannot blame this on me."

"Well it's true! We haven't slept together in over a week and we're fighting and-"

"We're only fighting because you stood me up Theo. And why do we have to hook up all the time? Is that what this relationship is about to you?"

"No but-"

"If it is, I don't know if I want to be in it anymore." You interrupt again, "I want you to leave."

"What?" He questions.

"Now. I want you to leave now." You stand up, opening the door and waiting for him to walk through it.

He scoffs and shakes his head, looks at you for a moment, before walking out the door. You close it behind him with force.

This entire situation was so frustrating. You don't know what to do and frankly you don't want to do anything about it. You just want to ignore it all and maybe it'd all just go away or fix itself.

You continue trying to work on school work but have a hard time focusing on anything, your mind is wandering.

Mattheo is so persistent about Theo not being right for you but what did he know? Whatever was happening with you two would pass soon, you were sure of it.

You had never seen Mattheo stick with one girl for too long, it was almost a revolving door of girls except for this year...you haven't seen him with a single girl. Weird.

Pansy comes in after a while and that's when you decide to give up and just listen to music. Maybe it would clear your head before dinner where you had to see both boys that were occupying your mind.

"Hey Theo wanted me to tell you to meet him in the courtyard at dinner time." Pansy mentions as she applies more mascara.

You roll your eyes, not responding.

"I don't know what happened between you two but he seemed pretty insistent about it..." she adds.

"I'm sure he was." You pause for a moment, "thanks Pansy"

"Sure," she smiles.

About an hour later, it's time for dinner. You walk down with Pansy and break off, walking towards the courtyard instead of the great hall.

You see Theo sitting on the edge of the fountain as you walk up, once he sees you, he stands up.

"I'm so happy you came." He says as he walks towards me.

"What do you want Theo?" You ask, declining to take his hand.

"Look, I'm really sorry. About everything. You deserve better than that and I'm going to try my hardest to be that for you." He apologizes.

'You deserve better' lingers in your mind. The same thing Mattheo said earlier.

"Theo, are you seriously mad at me for not sleeping with you?" You ask, questioning him.

"No I'm not mad I just...I miss you. That's all. I'm sorry I blamed being benched on you." He responds calmly.

You look at him, eyebrows furrowed as you process his apology before starting, "I want to make this work Theo, I really do but-"

"I'll do better I promise." Theo interrupts.

You look into his eyes as you think, "I've missed you the past couple days" you say.

"I've missed you too." Theo says as he steps forward, you start smiling as he grabs your cheek and pulls you in for a kiss.

This is what you wanted. You wanted to fix things with Theo and be with him. Really be with him. You were done holding back.
