Delilah's phone continued to buzz underneath her pillow. She slowly blinked her eyes open, groaning. Delilah wiped her hand across the mattress, trying to find the buzzing phone. She placed her hand on it and paused, too tired to answer it. She flipped the phone over to see who was calling, Apollo. "Hello?" She laid her head into the pillow. "Hey, baby." Apollo was already starting to sound better. "Hm," She mumbled, falling back asleep. "Can you come pick me up?" She turned her head out of the pillow, "What?"

"I'm at the airport, can you come pick me up?" He spoke slowly, "Please?" Delilah could hear his smile. "Why are you at the airport? Wait, which airport?" Delilah sat up in bed, brushing the hair out of her face. "Heathrow.. I was worried about you, so I left on the first flight I could get." Delilah placed her bare feet on the floor, taking a deep breath before she stood up. "Sorry, but it worried me when I heard all that yelling." Delilah nodded, "Mhm." She said, getting her shoes. "I'll be there in like- thirty minutes."

"Okay, thank you, baby." She gave him a mumbled response and hung up the phone. She creaked open the door. The hallway was dark, everyone's door shut except for Micheal's. She could hear something moving around downstairs. Delilah slowly went to join the noise. "Micheal?" She whispered to the man leaning on the island. He had a bowl in front of him, and a spoon in his mouth. He looked up at her and started to chew the food in his mouth. "Why are you up so late?" Delilah walked forward, looking at the TV illuminating the dark room. "It's only like nine in the US, Top pick." She rolled her eyes at the nickname. "Are Bennett and Jason sleeping?" He nodded, putting more food in his mouth. "You missed," he spoke with a mouth full of food, "Their girlfriends."

"Oh, shit. When did they get here?" Delilah pressed her hands against the countertop. "Couple of hours ago. Say, why are you up? And where are you going?" Delilah remembered why she woke up in the first place. "Apollo just landed, I have to go pick him up." She looked around for the keys, "They're by the front door," He paused. "On the table." She turned and looked at him, furrowing her brows. "The car keys." She looked to the front door, finding the car keys in the dark house. Delilah started to walk over, "Can I come?" Micheal's request sounded like he was embarrassed to ask. Delilah furrowed her brows, the earlier asshole wanting to join her. "I don't care, but come on." She opened the door and stepped out. Micheal left his bowl on the counter, quickly dodging the edge of the counter and meeting Delilah outside.

"Say," Micheal said during the silent, awkward car ride. "Who's Apollo? Your boyfriend?" Delilah nodded, looking back and forth from the GPS and the road. "He's a racer too," Delilah said, trying to ensure he didn't feel bad for talking. "You don't say? What's his name?" Micheal put his phone down in the seat, looking at the side of her face. "Miller. Apollo Miller." Micheal thought for a moment, "I raced against him once. He's pretty good, he didn't make it?" Delilah shook her head, "He didn't want to do it," Micheal chuckled. "Yeah, probably didn't want to deal with Milo being a dick all of a sudden." Delilah smiled, "That surprised me," Micheal raised a brow at her. "Milo switching up like that. He was pretty fucking cool, just a little weird, you know?" Micheal nodded, "Yeah, I know. Now he's too good for us." He shook his head, "But you know he's only in this for the money. He ain't no racing fanatic." Delilah looked surprised, "Really?" She questioned, Micheal nodded. "I bet you he doesn't know the first thing about racing."

Delilah shook her head, "I had no idea. Where'd he get the money to put this all together then?" Micheal shrugged, "Hell if I know, I think his daddy is loaded." Delilah nodded. Micheal paused before speaking again. "Yeah, but that boy don't know shit about races. He only got us running thirty laps." Delilah quickly turned her head to look at him, "Are you serious?" He nodded, "Thirty or twenty, I'm not sure, but I know it's going to be a short one." Delilah sighed, "Damn. But anyway, the real reason he didn't want to join was because of the team thing. He didn't want to be on a team with a few bitches." Micheal chuckled, "Yeah, I know exactly what he's saying." Delilah furrowed her brows, thinking that was a dig at her. Micheal pulled his phone back up, the bright light shining on his face. "I shouldn't have joined either." Delilah rolled her eyes, now irritated that he returned to being such an asshole.

It was silent again, Delilah kept looking at Micheal through the corner of her eye, examining what he was doing. She didn't want to say anything though, he's only been an asshole since day one. And she was too tired to deal with him, she only tried to be nice by letting him come. But Micheal was doing the same, watching her every move. He waited for her to say something, to break the silence, but she never did. "Say," Micheal finally couldn't handle the silence anymore. "Apollo's your boyfriend?" Delilah just nodded. "Wait, was he the one arguing with Axel during the tryouts?" Delilah furrowed her brows, "Did they argue during the tryouts? I only heard the one after." Micheal nodded, "A little bit."

Delilah cleared her throat, "You know Axel Johnson?" Micheal looked at her, "Hm?" Delilah quickly looked at him, making eye contact. "Are you friends with him?" Micheal chuckled, "Oh, Axel? Hell no. You must have never raced with him before." Delilah shook her head, confirming his assumption. "He sucks ass. You think I'm an asshole, wait til you have to be in the same room with this guy." Delilah pulled into the parking lot for the airport. "Or even on the same track," Micheal laughed to himself as Delilah called Apollo. "Hello?" He answered quickly, "Hey, I'm outside the front entrance." Apollo started to walk that way, but he could hear Micheal snickering in the background. "Who's with you" He asked as he stopped at the door. "It's my teammate, he was bored." Micheal heard her response and looked at the glass doors.

The familiar tall man started walking toward the car. As he put his bags in the trunk Micheal got into the back seat, allowing him to sit next to Delilah. Delilah watched Apollo sit down in the car. "Hey, baby," He sighed, "Hi, baby." He leaned towards her to give her a quick kiss, taking this opportunity to glance at the man in the backseat. "Babe, that's Micheal, my teammate," Delilah pointed with her thumb behind her as she pulled off. Apollo didn't turn to greet him, "Micheal?" He asked Delilah and she nodded her head. "Micheal," He turned and looked at the man in the back seat. "You were the one yelling at my fucking girlfriend?" Micheal's eyes went wide for a second, but he shook his head at the man.

Apollo nodded, "Babe." Delilah placed on hand on his forearm, indicating him to stop, but he didn't listen. "So, you didn't yell 'You're not getting first fucking pick, Top pick?'" Micheal didn't answer him and Apollo did not remove his eyes. "Apollo," Delilah pushed on him, Micheal still didn't answer. "Babe, turn around," Delilah commanded, still pushing on his arm as she drove. Apollo still waited for Micheal's answer. "Alright," Apollo turned around, "You yell at her again," He made eye contact with him using the rearview mirror. "I will beat the fuck out of you." "Babe." Apollo stared at the man, waiting for a response. Micheal slowly nodded his head and broke eye contact by looking out the window. Apollo turned to look at Delilah, she stared at the road in front of her. He slid his hand onto her leg, "I missed you, baby." Delilah shot him a look, "Did you go to your doctor," She asked, ignoring his statement. He laid his head on her shoulder, nodding. "Yeah, he gave me a shot." "And it helped?" Apollo nodded again, "A lot."
