(ok so its my birthday in a few days and since Kaiya was my first character I'm going make a special one shot just for her. Enjoy!)
Kaiya opened her eyes to the full moon. She hasn't been able to sleep during this time after leaving the clan. Her first nightmare since returning. She sighed closed her eyes again to just wait for morning.
At some point she must have fallen asleep because when she opened her eyes, she saw it was morning and Asuma sat at the end of her bed with a plate of pancakes. "Hnnn?"
"Hey there birthday girl."
"Ugh, let sleeping wolves stay asleep."
"Isn't it let sleeping dogs lie?"
"Do I look like a dog to you?"
He chuckled and set the plate down beside her. "Eat up and then come out to the kitchen." She nodded and sluggishly started to eat her pancakes. They were soft, fluffy, and nearly drowned by syrup just how she liked them.
Just as instructed, she went outside still in her silky powder blue pajamas. She wasn't expecting what happened next.
"SURPRISE!"
Her ears shot up as her eyes scanned the room. Everyone was gathered around. There was streamers hanging from the ceiling along with balloons. "W-woah." Asuma came over and ruffled her hair. "Come on don't be a statue." She shook his hand off before walking deeper into the living room/kitchen.
Shikamaru was on the couch while the others were hanging around chatting. Someone stood out amongst the rest. I redhead leaned against the back wall where the balcony was. She tilted her head and went to him. "Gaara? What are you doing here?"
"A visit."
"Yeah but, aren't you not supposed to stay in the office."
"Sand clone."
She rose a brow but couldn't speak again because Gaara pulls her out onto the balcony. "Here." He holds out a small square box. Kaiya lifted the lid and saw, laying on the cushion inside, was a shining silver necklace shaped like a crescent with a moonstone at the center. The silver moon had Celtic carvings. "It's beautiful."
A very faint quirk of the lips appeared and he leaned over, missing her on the cheek. "Returning a favor" He says softly before vanishing with his sand. Kaiya looked down at the box in her hand. That's when she realized something.
"I am in my pj's......"
