Chapter 20

 The day after testing the three gennin, Kaiya went with them to get their first D-rank mission. Oh how nice it was to have a different excuse to take the small jobs. B ranks were fine but when it came to A ranked jobs like hunting the Akatsuki, those were difficult once she starts loosing it. Kazuma had the brown wolf pup on his shoulder very much like how Kiba used to carry Akamaru on his head. Speaking of the Inuzuka. She heard that his team went to find a base. Naruto had elsewhere with Jiraya to train.

Ayame's voice broke the Mitsu out of her thoughts. "I wonder what mission we will get!" She was jumping up and down excitedly.

"Don't get your hopes up and wish for something cool. All D ranks are usually chores or errands. If we're lucky, we get to chase Toru the cat. It's like a gennin's right of passage to get that." She laughed remembering Naruto and his team coming back with scratches on his face. Haruka stopped at a shop. A very familiar shop. The Yamanaka flower shop to be exact. Hm. Maybe she should've found a separate route to take.  

"Oi Haru. Your attention span is insulting" Kazuma grumbled. Kaiya bonked him on the head. "Hey! Why did you hit me?"

"Don't be rude to your teammate." Her ears pricked and she turned her head. Rounding the corner was team Gai. "You Neji, Tenten, Lee!" She called out to them, waving her arms. The chunnin clad in green ran over and gave a bone crushing hug. With a wolfish grin, she hugged back, only tighter. Neji shook his head at our antics while Tenten only smiled.

Neji glanced at the three younger ninja behind her. Ayame was already swooning over the hyuuga. "Who are they?"

She walked behind the three and placed her hands on the two boys heads while the blonde stood in the middle. "Allow me to introduce my new gennin. "The boy on the left staring at the flowers is Haruka, The grumpy sasuke boy on the right is Kazuma, and the girl in the middle who has the smarts of a Nara youth is Ayame." Neji glanced at Kazuma and chuckled.

Lee gave a thumbs up. "More youthful shinobi for the future!" Kaiya returned the same gesture. "Right-O my enthusiastic friend." Then she turned her attention to the older brunette. "Hey we should have a girls night out some time! While everyone is here and all."

Tenten nodded. "Totally. I want to hear all about that Suna crush Ino keeps tqlking about." She said with a smirk. The gennin looked at their sensei curiously. Ayame obviously would be the most eager to know. "Crush? You have a crush in Suna?!" The blonde was jumping up and sown with excitement even though she didn't know the answer. Tenten pulled her teammates out of harm's way before Kaiya could react.

Haruka stared at the she-wolf with unusual interest. "Do tell." He prodded gently, trying not to tip her over the edge and cause a scene. Kazuma was smirking while scratching the pup behind the ears. Kaiya had hoped to keep it a secret from them. The last thing she needed was for the dog lover to know another weakness other than pulling her tail.

She let out a sigh and glared in the direction Gai's team disappeared. "Yes. I like someone in the sand village. No big deal." Ha, as if. If it wasn't a big deal then why can't a tell him? As if sensing her thoughts and the desire to escape further explanation, Lira made an appearance. "You're late. Tsunade is becoming irritated so I suggest you hurry."

She nodded. "Okay, everyone hold on to me. Kazuma I swear to Luna if grab my tail-" Of course he does it anyway...Cheeky brat. Making the needed signs, she flickered and appeared in the mission office. "Sorry Lady Tsunade for the tardiness." She smiled nervously. The woman sighed, shaking her head in dismissal. "It's fine."

She picked up a paper and handed it to her. She glanced over details. Her tail flicked and she looked up. "I'll get onto it right away. Come along pups." She waved and the gennin follow. "Our mission is to find a lost child. The name is Emi and she has brown hair with black eyes. The distinctive feature to look for is that she has a side ponytail and holds a rabbit doll." She handed Ayame the paper that also had a picture of their target.
