As the fire fighters rushed in and out of the Baileys' home, Ryan received a text from Edward.
Do you need to stay at our place for the night? I hear things aren't going too well.
He didn't know how Ed knew, but that didn't matter. They just needed somewhere to go.
Yes please. Thanks for the offer.

"We're going to Ed and Sophie's place." Ryan announced.
Charli let out a sigh of relief. She just wanted to be with people that cared about her, people that made her feel safe. She wanted to see James.

Within 15 minutes, Edward and Sophies' cars were there to pick them up. Charli, Alex, and Ryan were all going in Edward's car, while Yvette, Evie, and Theo were going with Sophie.
"My goodness this must be stressful." Edward said, driving as quick as he could.
"It is. But how did you know?" Ryan asked.
"James told me." Charli smiled.

10 minutes later, they arrived at the Edinburgh's home. Charli opened the car door, and was immediately met with a bone crushing hug. It was James.
"I'm glad you're ok." He gripped her tight. She stayed silent, not knowing quite what to say. She just hung onto him. Tears burned at the back of her eyes, threatening to spill, but she held them back.

Because it was late at night (or, early in the morning), the Bailey family put the stuff they had down and went to their designated bedrooms in the Edinburgh's house. Charli was the last one to go to her room, but as she was walking away, James stopped her.
"Do you wanna stay with me?" Charli said nothing, but nodded. James took her hand and pulled her along to his room.

When Charli entered, she was met with the smell of his cologne. It smelt fresh, yet dark and plant-like as well. James walked over too his bed, laying down, while Charli reluctantly sat on the edge.
"Come here, Lottie. You don't have to go to sleep if you don't want to. You can just lay here all not. I'll talk to you if you want." He said.
"I don't want to go back to sleep..." she said, so quietly it was almost a whisper. She shuffled over and lay down next to James, putting her had on his shoulder.
"We can lay here for as long as you need." She reassured her, kissing her hair.

Although Charlotte had said she didn't want to go back to sleep, within a few minutes, her eyelids had fluttered shut. James smiled, putting an arm around her before drifting off into his own peaceful slumber.

Charli woke up to the sound of gentle breathing, and realised she was laying with her head on James' chest.
"Morning, sleepy." He chuckled as she rubbed her eyes.
"Morning, early bird." She shot back at him. They shared a quiet laugh, before Charlotte sat up.
"I think mum and dad are cooking pancakes for everyone." James let her know. "Do you want to go down?"
"Yeah, I'll just wash my face first." She smiled.
"The bathroom's just through that door." James pointed to a door on the side of his bedroom.
"Thank you." Charli got up, walking over to do her skincare routine- without the skincare products.

About 10 minutes later, Charli and James decided to go downstairs and check on the breakfast.
"Morning, kiddos." Ed greeted them, trying to set a cheerful mood.
"G'morning, Ed." Charli smiled, thanking Sophie as she handed her a glass of water.
"We're just finishing up on breakfast. It'll be ready soon. How about you two go check on the dogs and let them inside?"
"Ok." James sighed, walked over to a big door which led outside.
"Teal, Mole, Teasel!" Charli called the dogs names. Within seconds, they showed up at the door, their tails wagging excitedly as they greeted Charli.
"How come I don't get a greeting?" James joked. "I own you." She said to Mole, scratching his ear.

The dogs sat calmly on the sofa as the Baileys and the Edinburghs ate at the dining table.
"These are yummy! Thank you Aunty Soph and Uncle Ed!" Evie exclaimed, taking a bite of her pancake, which was soaked with maple syrup.
"You're most welcome." Sophie smiled. "You'll have to have breakfast here more often."
"I know someone who would like that." Charli joked, looking at Alex and Louise.
"Oi." Alex grinned, patting Louise's knee.

They enjoyed the rest of their breakfast, with Evie making her cheeky jokes in between mouthfuls of pancakes, before everyone returned to their bedrooms, not quite being in the mood for running around the house.
"How about we watch a movie?" Charli suggested as she sat on the bed with James.
"Sure. Should we get the others?"
"Ok. You get Louise and Alex and I'll get the younger ones. We'll meet at the movie room."
"How come I have to get Louise and Alex? Who knows what they're doing!"
"James!" Charli scolded, but she was smiling and laughing.
"Alright, Alright, I'll get them." He grinned.

It took a while to round all of the children up, due to the large size of the house, but they eventually did it, meeting in the movie room.
"I want to watch Luca!" Evie said.
"No, that's boring." Theo groaned.
"How about we watch Harry Potter?" Louise suggested. "The first one's appropriate." Everyone seemed to agree with the decision, except Evie, but with 5 against 1, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was the clear winner.

As they watched to movie, James slipped an arm around Charli's shoulders.
"I'm not glad that your house was on fire, but I'm glad you came to my place." He smiled. Charli mentally shivered as she felt his breath against her neck.
"I'm glad that we came as well." She smiled, leaning further into his chest. Louise sneakily took a photo of the moment, subtly nudging Alex to look at them.
"10 pounds they will tell us they're together within the next few weeks." Louise whispered.
"Deal." Alex replied.
