Narrator's P.O.V

In the early light of the morning, an evil Scar is talking to Ushari, the snake that has given him physical life again. Finally he can begin plans with Kovu and conquer the Pride Lands. Due to Ushari's aid, the reptile gets to own a fair chunk of the land. But first, Scar does have to defeat Kiara's Lion Guard. Which is actually fairly easy. He had been rallying an army, but not of hyenas, and not of lions. Of bulls. It sounds weird but he found this rare type of red bull. They drank something which gives them energy and now they're the strongest type of bull ever. Despite having his father back, Kovu hated the fact that he'd have to fight Kiara. Vitani didn't want to fight Kopa. They both just wanted to leave, but they couldn't. They never chose this life, they were born into it. And now there's no happily ever after for anyone.

Meanwhile, the Lion Guard had learnt of a trip to the Tree of Life which would be taking place soon. So that prince Kopa could meet King Baliyo since they were the same age. For now, they had to continue with their duties. But soon they could relax, as Kopa and Baliyo would attempt to forge a peace treaty.

Finally, Kion and Rani were waking up to a surprise. Whilst they had no idea what that would be, fate would have its way...

Rani's P.O.V

The sun was shining, the green, green grass and the blue, blue sky was calming and finally, I was closer to the Pride Lands, which meant I was further away from the Tree of Life. Today, that friendly voice told me to head over to the other side of the hill, so after a quick snack and drink, I made my way over, only to find a lion sleeping. It was a male and he had cute red hair. He looked really peaceful and was sleeping to his heart's content. I then noticed that he had a pile of fish and mangoes, and like me he had also had 2 mangoes and 2 fish. At least, that was if what was left of them was anything to go by. I tried to walk over but stepped on a branch, waking him up.

He shot up, growling until he looked at me. Once he saw me, he stopped growling and smiled, and I smiled back.

"Hi, my name's Kion.", he said, before continuing. "What's your name?"

"I'm Rani.", I replied.

"Well it's nice to meet you Rani. Where are you from?"

"The Tree of Life. What about you?"

"I'm from the Outlands, which is next to the Pride Lands.", Kion replied.

"Really? So, are the Pride Lands straight on?", I asked him, starting to get excited.

"Yeah, and is the Tree of Life behind you?", he asked me, intrigued.

"Yep. Directly behind me. But you don't want to go there. Trust me, I should know.", I informed him quickly.

"Well I doubt you want to go to the Pride Lands either. It's a horrible place.", he told me coldly. "Sorry, it's just that I lived there for a few years and was hated for not having a family. They said I had to go so they exiled me forever."

I felt bad for him, and realised that I should warn him of the Tree of Life. "Well, I got accused of murdering my own grandmother after she died of old age. She was the only one who actually liked me. And now I'm an outsider. Now I have no family, no home. No friends."

"So, I guess that we're kinda similar right?", he asked me, coming to a conclusion that strangely enough, we've got so much in common. I could tell that he was only a little bit older as well.

"Yeah, I guess we are."

Kion's P.O.V

Once I met Rani, I liked her. She and I are kind of the same. And then I looked around here. This is like a perfect setting to meet someone, and I did.

"So Rani, we both don't have anyone, so do you wanna be friends?", I asked her and she smiled at me.

"Of course. I'd love to be friends."

"So, what are we gonna do? Where do we go?", Rani asked me, and I quickly thought of the perfect answer.

"Here! I mean, it's right in the middle. It's safe and no one would come out this far. Right?", I replied, and she seemed to get very excited.

"Yeah sure.", she replied. "But if we're gonna live here, we're gonna make sure that we don't disturb anyone else."

"That's right.", I replied before adding, "I'll try to give us some protection on this side, and you do it on the left side."

"You got it.", she said before wandering off.

"Kion, use the roar.", called out a voice which I'd always heard.

"Hey Kion, why's the wind picking up?", Rani asked me as she was running up to me. By the time she reached me, I'd already roared, creating a barrier of rocks around us, and then dug a hole in the ground. Finally, I roared at a cloud and it started to rain, before stopping out of exhaustion. "How did you do that?"

It took me a minute to catch my breath, but once I had I told her all about the voice in my head.

"There's a voice in my head like that too. It told me to walk over to this side this morning. That's how I met you.",  she informed me, and I was shocked. We had an unusual amount of similarities.

"Wow, that's strange. Anyway, I'm gonna go to sleep. I'm really tired.", I said, sitting myself down.

"Alright, good night.",  she said to me before I fell asleep.

1 month later...

By this time, me and Rani had gotten to know each other so much, shared our life stories and I've even started to grow feelings for her. She's really kind, beautiful and is the only person who understands me.

I was just walking around the base of the nearby cliff when I heard someone calling out for help.

Rani came from behind me, having heard someone calling out for help. Looking to the side of me, we saw some leopards chasing a lion cub.

"We have to help that cub.", I said definitely. Rani nodded back at me with determination as we rushed the leopards. There were only 3. I thought that they'd be strong but they were actually quite weak.

The leopards ran the opposite way towards the Pride Lands as the cub came up to us, grateful. "Thank you." The cub smiled but spoke weakly, fighting tears.

"Are you alright?", I asked.

"No, my mom and dad got killed by the leopards and told me to run. I'm all alone.", Beginning to cry, the cub stuttered. "My name's Azzan."

"Well Azzan, you can come with us.", Rani told him before turning to me. "I think we should leave and find somewhere else to go."

"I think that you're right.", I replied, following Rani.

"Azzan, you can hop on my back if you want.", I told him and he smiled.

"Thanks."

We began our journey, not knowing where we were going, but going together.

Rani's P.O.V

As we began our journey to who-knows-where, I thought about Kion. Recently he's been the only thing on my mind. He's my best friend, he's really cute and I have feelings for him. And when Azzan got on his back, resting against his soft fur, I wished it was me. It's stupid I know, but I really like him. But I can't tell him or I'll ruin our friendship. We'll just have to stay friends.
