Shawn, age 18
Camila, age 19"Are you seriously selling that?"
Camila was laying on her back on his bed, her head dangling off the side of the mattress. At first, looking at everything upside-down had given her the slightest headache, but she had gotten used to it after several minutes and now felt just fine.
"I mean, yeah..." Shawn replied, sitting on his bedroom floor and carefully cleaning the guitar with a little microfiber cloth, like one you'd use to clean the lenses of glasses. "Moving to the city is expensive; we're gonna need all the money we can get. And as much as it sucks, I know the guitar is worth a good chunk of change."
"But you love it..." Camila, still upside-down, frowned dramatically. Shawn looked over at her and snorted.
"You know, to me it just looks like you're smiling."
"Oh, wait..." She smiled as big as she could, making Shawn laugh even more. "Now do you see how sad it's making me?"
"Why are you sad about it?"
"Cause I like listening to you play," she told him, rolling over on his bed to be laying on her stomach. Her head started to throb a bit now that she was right-side-up again. "It's relaxing."
"I can always get another guitar someday," he assured her. "But if you wanna live in an apartment with running water, you're gonna have to part with this particular guitar for now."
Camila pouted. "You're right, but I'm not happy about it."
Shawn laughed again. He hadn't realized how much she loved hearing him play; suddenly he felt a little bit worse about selling the guitar. But at the end of the day, they really did need the money. And he meant it that maybe one day he could get another one. Until then, this one was going to be listed for sale.

"You're the most handsome guy in the whole entire world," Camila cooed, her thumbs brushing right behind his ears.
"Are you almost done?" Shawn asked in amusement, looking down at where Camila was petting Tarzan down on the floor of their living room. "We gotta go pick up mom and dad. Unless you wanna stay here with the boys and I go pick them up and bring them back?"
"No," Camila replied, standing up. "I wanna go too!" She bid both Tarzan and Terk goodbye and they were off to the airport.
"It's your last chance to let me know what kind of wedding dress you'd like..." Camila told Shawn as they drove. He just chuckled and shook his head.
"You know what? I do have a rule."
Camila snapped her head over to look at him, her brows raising in intrigue. "Tell me more."
"If you don't end up tearing up from how perfect it is, you don't get it. You have to love it so much that it makes you cry...at least a little bit. And cry in a good way, of course."
"Who's to say my dream dress will make me cry?" she asked with a smirk. "Maybe I won't even get that emotional."
Shawn gave her a side-eye, making his future wife laugh and quickly fold.
"Okay, okay," she admitted between giggles. "I'm definitely going to be emotional. And I promise I'll get a dress that I love so much, it makes me cry."
They got to the Buffalo airport but upon checking the flight tracker, they realized that Karen and Manny's flight hadn't even landed yet. They still had about twenty minutes to go. Shawn parked their car in the parking lot while they waited.
