I didn't know that a small town could go national. Everyday I enter and exit the court paparazzi snap photos and ask questions. I never wondered why they ask odd questions, not until the questions start appearing behind my eyes at night and they start turning in my head. I feel like I am being watched everyday and every night. I can't fall asleep. So I decided to look through all my old stuff that my dad kept. I went into the attic and saw a box with 'April's Things' written across it. When I opened it and was hit with grief, I saw my hospital bracelet from the time I gave birth to William. Under some photos I found my notebook, I took it out and went back to my room and sat on my bed. I brushed the dust off the cover and stared at it. The last entry left off when I was still in the hospital, the day after I gave birth. I texted my lawyer Journey Micheals,

I knew it was too early for her to answer, she was probably sleeping. I started reading through the notebook starting from the first time I got it. I don't love re-reading the stuff because I don't want to relive it, but it's going to be mentioned during court so I should just get this bit done now. Once they mention any of this in court during the evidence showing I will relive it.
Over and over and over again.
I held my breath for a second, then let it out. I set the notebook on my side table and laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. The questions started again, the words hitting my mind as if they were gunshots. I'm bleeding out of my head. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to overdose with those pills and instead should've gotten it over with. But I sit here unsuccessfully. 4 failed. 0 won.
