Katsuki galloped through the woods, losing the main road and taking another smaller, less used trail.
The day was going by quickly, and Katsuki guessed it was nearly noon at this point. The sun shown through the trees, and there was a kind of calmness about nature that Katsuki couldn't find anywhere else. He loved how quiet the atmosphere was, the only sounds being birds chirping and the rustling of the trees as the wind blowed.
In the castle, it was never calm. Not like this at least. There was always something happening. Always noises and people.
That was another reason Katsuki escaped as often as he could. He wanted to be alone.
However, his wish was quick to end.
Katsuki hadn't made it very far on this particular path when he heard the sound of voices. Some sounded angry, some sounded fearful.
Katsuki prayed whoever it was, wasn't anyone from the royal guard.
He was slightly relieved when he made it to the source of the noise, though it came with a different set of difficulties.
A carriage was overturned, lying on it's side in a ditch, the passengers scattered around, fear in their eyes.
Based on the masked men holding knives surrounding the travelers, Katsuki guessed they were bandits who had either caused the carriage wreck or were using it to their advantage.
The felons were too busy raiding the scene to notice Katsuki's approach.
Katsuki's eyes fell on one of the passengers, a woman who was playing a game of tug of war with one of the bandits, who was trying to take a bag with a rectangular shape inside.
The woman lost the battle, the bandit immediately mounting his horse and taking off with the bag.
The woman caught sight of Katsuki and rushed towards him, her eyes pleading.
"Please go get that from him," she practically begged.
Before Katsuki could make a decision, yet another undesirable obstacle occured.
A large group of palace guards approached the scene, likely coming to see what all the commotion was.
At the front of the group was the captain of the guard, Eijiro Kirishima, who spotted Katsuki, a mix of relief and irritation flashing across his face.
"Please," the woman said again, pulling Katsuki's attention back towards her, "it is my life."
With a groan, Katsuki galloped after the thief.
The man noticed Katsuki following him and urged his horse to go faster and Katsuki did the same. Soon, the two were neck and neck.
Katsuki jumped off the horse and landed on the other, his hands attempting to grab the bag while also maintaining his spot on the criminals horse.
The crook tried to knock him off but Katsuki resisted.
The horse reared back suddenly, knocking both men off. They tumbled to the ground, but were quickly back on their feet, Katsuki chasing after the thief as he attempted to flee.
Catching up to him, Katsuki tackled the man and the two rolled down a small hill before the ground was suddenly gone and they fell off a short cliff into a large pond.
Katsuki hit the water below, still holding onto the criminal, even as he was submerged in the water.
The bandit loosened his grip on the bag and Katsuki took advantage of this, snatching the bag and swimming back up to the surface.

Ik that was short... I really did try, I swear...
I'm also aware that this chapter doesn't have any homosexual interactions between a certain blond and a certain greenette but it is relevant to the plot...
Anyways, I hope y'all enjoyed and I'll be back with another chapter ASAP!
