Izuku walked around the prince who had moved to stand in front of him during his rambling.
The prince looked somewhat stunned at Izukus words, baffled that anyone, even a noble, had the nerve to talk to the prince like that.
However, Katsuki wasn't upset at the boldness, quite the opposite actually.
The longer he spoke to the mystery man, the more intrigued he became. He'd had enough people treat him like a god, and the only people who ever treated him like a normal person were his parents and his friends. It was refreshing to speak to someone who didn't put him on a pedestal just because he was royalty.
Katsuki refused to give up, needing to know more about the man, "please," he practically begged, "a name. Any name."
Knowing he wasn't going to just drop the subject, Izuku sighed, turning back to face the prince, "I'm afraid the only name I can leave you with," he paused for dramatic effect, "is Deku."
Katsuki grinned, "well now, that wasn't so hard."
Izuku returned the smile, though it was forced. Telling the prince his actual name would be a foolish move. It would make it easier for his cover to be blown.
Besides, he doubted he'd ever come face to face with the prince ever again. His master wasn't exactly keen on the idea of any of his staff being seen by someone important, especially not the royal family.
"Oh, Katsuki," came a voice from off to the side, causing the two men to turn their attention away from each other, "you're back."
The king emerged from a separate path that led in the direction of the gardens. He was accompanied by several people of noble blood, who walked a respectful distance behind.
"Hello father," Katsuki greeted politely.
Izuku froze, panic once more rising at the sight of the king, who hadn't seemed to have noticed him yet. Izuku had spent far too long here.
"Your mother would like to a word with you," Masaru said, a knowing look in his eyes.
Katsuki and Masaru shared an internal conversation, creating an understanding of sorts, and Katsuki nodded.
Seeing his opportunity, Izuku turned and slipped into the crowd.
"I shall be right in," Katsuki agreed, turning back to where Izuku had stood, brows furrowing when the green haired man was nowhere in sight.
