"Look, Ochako," Izuku squealed, "it's floating."
He held the long string attached to the kite, fascinated by the contraption.
"I don't know what you're so happy about," Uraraka huffed, dipping his brush into a shade of blue paint as she painted the field around them, with the manor in the distance, "you're going to be swimming in manure if they get married."
"I could care less," the greenette replied cheerfully.
"You're lying," she challenged, "the prince would be your brother-in-law, and you, Count Deku, would be bringing them breakfast in bed."
Izuku grinned, dancing around with the kite, "yes, but then they would move into the palace and I could stay with the manor and turn things around. That's all that matters."
"You like him," Ochako accused, now smiling as well, "admit it."
"Nope."
Ochako's attention suddenly caught on two horses headed towards them. One of them carried none other than the prince himself, though he didn't seem to have noticed Ochako or Izuku yet.
Uraraka's smirk grew, noting that Izuku was still completely oblivious, "And, I suppose if you saw him again, you'd simply-"
Izuku cut her off, still twirling around, "i'd walk right up to him and say, 'Your Highness, my family is your family. Please take them away.'"
"Good," Ochako grinned, "because nows your big chance. He's headed this way."
Izuku snapped his attention away from the kite to look at his best friend and then towards the prince in horror. He let out a squeak and ducked behind one of the large hay bales.
The prince came to a halt in front of Ochako, "i'm looking for a Signora Ashido. We're to go to the monastery together. Have you seen her?"
"Ashido?" Ochako asked, "Uh, no, Your Highness."
The prince frowned as he glanced over to where Izuku was hiding. Uraraka stilled, slowly looking at what had caught Katsuki's attention, relieved when it wasn't Izuku.
"Well, is that not his flying contraption?" Katsuki asked, pointing towards the kite, that Izuku realized he was still holding, "Where did you get it?"
Ochako's eyebrows furrowed, remembering how Tsuyu had brought it back from her visit to town, claiming a shop keeper had "given it" to her.
"From, uh," the brunette fumbled, before coming up with an idea, "from the Count Deku. He is a friend of hers."
Katsuki's eyes went wide at this, "You know him? Please, I must find him. Where is he staying?"
Ochako pursed her lips, debating on what to do next, before deciding that if her best friend wasn't going to initiate something with the prince, she'd just help him out.
"I believe, Your Highness," she smiled kindly, "that she is staying with a cousin. The Baron Aku Midoriya."
Katsuki frowned, letting out a sigh, "that does present a problem."
"But, I know that she is there, right now, by himself," Ochako pressed.
"Excellent," the prince said, then looked over a bit past Ochako, "nice painting."
The prince and his guard galloped away in the direction of the manor.
Izuku let out a loud groan, "you're such a bitch."
Ochako just smiled devilishly, "and you, my friend, better start running."
~
Izuku arrived at the manor, bursting through the doors and up the stairs.
Tsuyu appeared next to him, looking confused and a little scared, "what's going on?"
"No time to explain," Izuku rushed, pulling off his shirt and quickly pulling on one of his nicer shirts.
Tsuyu looked away, still frowning, "i'm guessing by your outfit change, that the prince is on his way."
Izuku nodded frantically, pulling on a pair of pants and then grabbing a pair of shoes.
~
There was a loud knock on the door right as Izuku finished changing, hurrying back down the stairs to open the door, faking surprise at the sight of the prince.
"Your Highness," he breathed, "what an unexpected surprise."
"I'm bound for the monastery," Katsuki replied, "would you care to accompany me? The Franciscans have an astonishing library, and I'm well aware of how fond you are of reading."
Izuku smiled, "It is not fair, sire, you have found my weakness, but I have yet to learn yours."
"Well I should think it was quite obvious," Katsuki hummed, causing Izuku to blush, looking down at his hands.
Katsuki grinned, turning to look at his guard, whom had apparently multiplied while he was talking to Izuku, for now there was about a dozen guards.
With a sigh, Katsuki rolled his eyes, "Captain Kirishima? I shall not be needing my horse or your services."
Eijiro nodded, and directed the guards to follow him back towards the castle.
The prince turned back to Izuku, "today, I am simply... Katsuki."
