"I'M SO NERVOUS," Manon laughed as she finished getting ready for the night awaiting.

The interview was going to be filmed that night, aka December 9th 2023. Manon had asked Sam to come with her over text, and he'd agreed in excitement. Now he helped with her hair - something she'd insisted on as after all, he did know how to do hair thanks to Allison.

"You're on in ten!" A producer alerted her.

Manon nodded and looked back into the mirror. Sam squeezed her shoulders. "Don't be nervous, Manny. You've done these before."

"And if they ask about the duets?" She frowned, ignoring the nickname he'd started using a few days ago. "We agreed to go public in 2024."

"Deflect it," Sam shrugged. "You're good at that - I learned that when people asked about our collab back in 2021."

Manon nodded and finally rose to her feet. She had a long green dress that reached her feet on, and of course Sam had done her hair.

"...She's released single after single since late 2021. Please welcome...Manon Wright!"

The crowd erupts as she steps out, waving at all the guests as she takes her seat. She turns to Jimmy with a bright smile.

"Welcome, thank you for coming!"

"Thank you so much for having me!"

"So, ever since about late 2021, you've been releasing single and ep after single and ep, and it's raising a lot of questions. But clearly the most popular is your newest, Heartbeat. And to say the least, it's very romantic. In fact, all of your works the past two years have been completely different than before. What's with that?"

Manon looks towards the crowd for a moment. "Well, I wrote Love is Fake right after a breakup of mine that happened in Norfolk, my childhood area. In fact - I still own the house I used to live in.

"Anyway, my point is, that I wrote them so upset and heartbroken. But then I moved here, made the best friends - shoutout to Gracie and Taylor, I love you! - and I have a fresh start.

"Enchanted, my first ep with three tracks, happened after I met some pretty awesome people. It was like a fresh start. And Heartbeat...well, everyone who knows me knows what that's from."

Jimmy nodded, listening to her every word. "It came...pretty out of the blue. Like you announced it and everyone went crazy."

Manon smiled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, pretty much. But when you meet the people I did after so long in the place I was...it's pretty good. Refreshing."

"And your duets with a certain newfound artist," Jimmy began slowly. Everyone - including Sam backstage behind him - burst out laughing. "They're stirring up some rumours. So, tell us about Thinkin' Bout You, Everywhere Everything."

"To start off - ain't my songs," Manon shrugged as everyone laughed. "Sam wrote them, I just featured. Shoutout to Sam cause that was hella fun!"

He grinned and gave her a thumbs up.

"I also know like literally nothing about them," Manon placed her hand against her mouth. "But Everywhere Everything was so much fun! Gracie listened to me practise and then the next time she saw Sam, she threw a paper ball at his face because how did he write that?"

"That leads me to my next two questions," Jimmy grinned. "How's the friendship between everyone?"

"Cha-o-tic," Manon spelled out. "We became friends all thanks to Gracie and I collaborating with the two boys in 2021, and now we're all best friends.

"Taylor is basically our mother, after all she's thirty-three right now. Sam's gaining though - he's the second oldest, twenty-seven. Then Colby and I are twenty-six, Madeleine Beaumont or Maddy is twenty-five, my sister is twenty-four, so is Gracie. So basically it's a massive family of chaotic mental children."

Laughter erupted at her answer.

"And final question," Manon turned to Jimmy. "Is there something between you and Sam? With the duets and everything?"

"Oh my god!" She slapped her armrest. "We saw a tweet about this! Why do people think that, though?"

"He is the only person you've collaborated with besides Gracie Abrams," Jimmy explained. "People are curious about it."

She ran a hand down her face. "The collaborations or duets are me having fun with honesty, my favourite friend. If there was something worth telling, everyone would know."

"Well, thank you for answering and coming out here for this. And next, we'll have Manon Wright singing Heartbeat for the first time live!"

"Her latest single has gone viral...everyone, this is Heartbeat by Manon Wright!"

Standing on stage for the first time since Love is Fake is so surreal for her as she stands there, resting her hands on the microphone. Before she starts, before everything starts, her eyes flutter to the right to see Sam standing there, away from everyone's eyes.

She starts to sing, starting soft for the beginning of the verse.

The crowd starts to cheer louder as she continues, finally reaching her favourite part. She looks to Sam, standing backstage, and sings direction to him.

"You pull me closer, my head on your shoulder / baby, we won't need a song / we'll make a fallen star wish, one more slow kiss / what are we waitin' on?"

Finally, the song draws to a close. The audience gives the girl a standing ovation, causing a smile to break out on her face as she looks about in pure awe of what Heartbeat had become.

Again, her eyes flicker to Sam but this time, they widen as her cheeks flush. He's clapping loud and whistling from backstage, the proudest look on his face as he watches her.
