SAM HAD BURST INTO THE HOUSE AFTER HE GOT AURELIE'S TEXT MESSAGE. He saw Gracie on the phone with someone, and based off what he heard, it was Taylor and probably Travis as well.
Aurelie, Madeleine and Manon were nowhere to be seen.
Gracie noticed him and sighed in relief. "He's here." She took the phone from her ear. "Manon's room. Get up there. Now."
He nodded and sprinted upstairs, finding her room and opening the door. Manon sat on her bed, crying, and the other two girls spoke to her.
"You haven't seen it?" Madeleine's eyes widened as she looked at him.
"No?"
Aurelie grabbed her phone and looked something up before handing it to him. "Published overnight."
Sam began to read it, taking in the words. They said this? ENEWS said this? Lukas Chase, Manon's ex, said that? He looked up and walked over to Manon.
"It's not true," she whispered. "I promise, I swear, it's not true. I'm not-"
"I know you're not," he told her softly, wrapping his arms around her. "You wouldn't do that. I know it's not true. I've got you, I've got you."
"We're gonna head downstairs," Aurelie spoke quietly as she exited the room with Madeleine.
"Why do they say all that?"
"I don't know, I'm so sorry this is happening," he held her tighter. She didn't deserve this, none of it.
"You know," Manon and Sam sat in her room while she continued to calm down. "I...I wrote a song about him when I first found out."
"Yeah?"
She bit her lip. "It...it shows something I never have. I found out he cheated after he broke up with me. It shows that part, before I found out."
"You going to release it?"
"Maybe."
"I HAVE CAKE!"
Manon had calmed down and was now sitting with Sam on the couch when Taylor and Travis burst in. She jumped up and ran to them.
"Manon!" Taylor sighed and hugged her tight. "ENEWS sucks, I'm so sorry."
"We both are," Travis added, holding the cake. "ENEWS...they tell the worst rumours."
"I'm alright," the younger singer assured them. "I wasn't at first, but I am now."
Taylor nodded and pulled away. "We brought cake and decided to have a small party."
"Sounds fun!"
"Let's get the party started!"
