Chapter 17: New York!
(tw: slight violence but nothing graphic)
Heather C's POV (one month later, I'M SORRY FOR ALL THE TIME SKIPS OK? OK.)
There's only a week left of school and we're spending the majority of it in New York for our senior trip. We're all rooming in groups of four, so it's obviously Heather, Heather, Veronica and I in a room. A few people asked if they could share a room with someone of the opposite gender, but Fleming said it was "Inappropriate for couples to be sharing rooms." Apparently Fleming doesn't understand gay people exist, despite her being a hippie. We're on the plane, flying to the New York City airport, and Ronnie is asleep on my lap. We start our descent so I figure I should wake her up.
"Ronnie, babe wake up we're almost there." I can tell she's awake by the fact that she's slightly smiling, but she's pretending to still be asleep. So I start kissing her all over, marking her neck slightly then nipping at her ear, causing her to yelp.
"Heatherrr, I was sleepingggg! And I was really comfy!" she says as I lift her out of my lap and set her down.
"Babe I could tell you were awake, now c'mon, we're landing now." We get off the plane, stretching and making our way over to the coach buses that will take us to the hotel. Veronica falls asleep on me on the ride there, but she's really out this time, so I pick her up and ask Duke and Mac to carry our bags, to which they agree. We get on the elevator and Ronnie stirs awake when the bell dings, signaling we're on our floor.
"Hm? Wait, I thought we were on the coach bus?"
"We were, and then you fell asleep again. So I figured I'd just carry you." I say, kissing her lightly on the forehead and setting her down. We make our way into our room and Duke speaks first.
"So who's sharing a bed with who?" she jokes, holding Mac's hand.
"I wonder, who would wanna share a bed with me?" I ask sarcastically, setting my stuff down and flopping on the bed, taking my scrunchie out of my hair. Ronnie walks over to me and pulls me onto her laps, allowing me to lay down on her. She starts running her fingers through my hair as she speaks, staring at my eyes and letting her own flick down to my lips for milliseconds at a time.
"Yeah, I wonder who would want to share a bed with you?"
Mac jumps in jokingly. "Oh c'mon! Don't be gay!" We all laugh at Mac's joke and start to settle in, drifting off so we're energized for all our sight seeing tomorrow.
Veronica's POV (the next morning)
I wake up to my alarm going off, signaling it's time for us to get up and meet the rest of our class in the lobby. Heather is asleep on top of me, so I gently shake her awake.
"Heather, baby we've gotta get up so we can go see New York!" She starts stirring and looks up at me, flashing a soft smile. God her eyes are beautiful.
"Good morning babe! Are you ready to go see the Empire State Building?" I nod and we start getting ready, this time, I purposely don't cover my freckles, because I know Heather loves them. We get onto the bus and she finally notices it.
"Ronnie! You aren't covering your freckles!"
I smile and nod. "No, I know you like them, and I don't really hate them anymore." She grins and pulls me in for a kiss, placing her red lipstick onto my lips. She pulls away, inspecting my face.
"Hmm, that is a good shade on you. You could use a bit more though." she says, pulling me in for another kiss, this time trying to slip her tongue in. I pull away and shake my head.
