Having noticed the four adolescents in the party, Joo Dee approached them. "What are you doing here?" She asked. "You have to leave immediately, or we'll all be in terrible trouble."

"Not until we see the king." Sokka argued, holding the tray in his hands to block Joo Dee from pushing him.

"You don't understand. You must go." Joo Dee countered, shoving the boy into Aang, who accidentally spilled tea on a woman. The woman screamed at the spill.

"Sorry, no, don't shout." Aang said, airbending her dry and in the process knocking the hat off his head in which his arrow tattoos were revealed. Rosabella heard the commotion and glanced over.

"The Avatar. Oh, I didn't know the Avatar would be here." The woman spoke, shocked. Rosabella's brown eyes widened at the revelation. Suddenly, a guard grabbed her arm,

"Princess, the area is no longer secure, we are going to have to escort you out." He reported.

"Oh, well, alright then." Rosabella left with the guard, but she looked back at Sokka, who looked over at her with concern in his eyes. The Avatar started bending the water in the tea to entertain the guests and Bosco.

Sokka used the opportunity to look for the king and the princess. Meanwhile, Rosabella watched as her father was carried out to the party, that's when she noticed the Dai Li grab hold of Sokka. She raced forward to stop them,

"Let me go!" Sokka demanded as they held his arms behind his back.

"No, wait!" Rosabella called out to the agents, not wanting the boy to get hurt or taken away. "Stop! Dai Li, wait! No. . ."

"Why won't you let us see the Earth King and the Princess?" Sokka asked Long Feng angrily. "We have information that could defeat the Fire Nation!"

"The Earth King has no time to get involved with political squabbles and the day-to-day minutia of military activities. He is strictly focused on finding a proper suitor for his beloved daughter." Long Feng answered calmly yet strict.

"Why not? I've already met her." Sokka smirked.

"This could be the most important thing they've ever heard." Aang insisted.

"What's most important to his royal majesty is maintaining the cultural heritage of Ba Sing Se. And of course, keeping his only child safe." Long Feng corrected. "All his duties relate to issuing decrees on such matters, making sure no commoners even know of the princess. It's my job to oversee the rest of the city's resources, including the military."

"So the king and princess are just figureheads." Katara realized.

"They're your puppets!" Toph exclaimed.

"Oh, no, no." Long Feng replied. "His majesty is an icon, a god to his people. Princess Rosabella isn't even known by most, her only duty is to find a worthy husband. King Kuei can't sully his hands with the hourly changes of an endless war."

"But we found out about a solar eclipse that will leave the Fire Nation defenseless." Sokka explained, stepping forward. "You could lead an invasion--"

Long Feng stood up, causing Sokka to step back. "Enough, I don't want to hear your ridiculous plan. It is the strict policy of Ba Sing Se that the war not be mentioned within the walls. Constant news of an escalating war will throw the citizens of Ba Sing Se into a state of panic. Our economy would be ruined, our peaceful way of life, our traditions would disappear. In silencing talk of conflict, Ba Sing Se remains a peaceful, orderly utopia. The last one on Earth."

The four friends looked shocked and worried by the elder man's words. Sokka scowled at Long Feng, now discovering the Rosabella has been lied to her entire life, he wants her to know the truth.

"You can't keep the truth from all these people." Katara said. "They have to know."

"I'll tell them." Aang threatened. "I'll make sure everyone knows."

"Until now, you've been treated as our honored guest." Long Feng now stood before them. "But from now on, you will be watched every moment by Dai Li agents. If you mention the war to anyone, you will be expelled from the city."

"I'll tell Rosabella everything! She knows me. I'll tell her about the war, about the lies, about everything!" Sokka warned Long Feng. "I won't let you keep lying to her about this, about her own kingdom! I'm going to make sure she knows, trust me."

"Unless you wish to be locked away forever, I'd suggest you stay far away from Princess Rosabella." Long Feng threatened, getting in Sokka's face.

"You don't scare me." Sokka growled.

"I understand you've been looking for your bison." Long Feng said, looking back at the green fire. "It would be quite a shame if you were not able to complete your quest."

Aang scowled at his words. Sokka clenched his fists, furious that he might be kept from telling Rosabella the truth.

"Now Joo Dee will show you home." Long Feng said, sitting back on the bench as a strange woman entered the library.

"Come with me, please." The stranger said. Everyone looked shocked, because it wasn't the same Joo Dee as before.

"What happened to Joo Dee?" Katara asked, fearful.

"I'm Joo Dee." The woman said. "I'll be your host as long as you're in our wonderful city."
