The next morning, Oscar was finally able to open his eyes and found Charles beside him. Oscar was terrified, consumed by thoughts about his whereabouts and Lando’s location, and his greatest fear was that they had gotten rid of Lando.
When Charles realized the extent of Oscar’s panic and fear, he began to speak to him calmly, telling him about the recent events and reassuring him that things were not as he thought. Charles stood up and told Oscar that he would inform the others of his awakening, due to Lando’s intense worry about him. He started joking about his appearance, pointing out that Landon hadn’t stopped asking about his health and improvement.
Lando entered the room, relying on crutches due to his poor condition from the torture he had endured. Charles stood at the door, trying to support Lando and help him balance his steps. The atmosphere in the room became tense, and Charles excused himself and left the room, closing the door behind him.
Lando felt too embarrassed to look into Oscar’s eyes and began walking towards him with his head lowered. “I’m sorry, I promise this won’t happen again,” Lando said as he finally lifted his eyes to face Oscar, who had tears streaming down his cheeks.
Lando comforted Oscar, and then Oscar spoke in a hoarse voice, “I know it’s not your fault.” At that moment, Oscar grabbed Lando’s cheeks, pulling him into a passionate kiss filled with their intertwined emotions. Oscar broke the kiss he had initiated and began removing his hands awkwardly, while Lando was stunned. Landon knelt on his knees, leaving the crutches behind, and grabbed Oscar’s hands, trying to return them to his cheeks, kissing them before placing them back on his face.
Their eyes met in a moment filled with emotion, and Lando moved closer and kissed Oscar’s neck, moving up to his lips. Oscar slowly parted his lips, considering it a sign of his consent, and Landon resumed his work inside Oscar’s mouth. Their breaths mingled, and they eagerly tasted each other’s lips over and over again. They broke the kiss to catch their breath, and then Oscar gave Lando a warm hug, both wishing that this night and the peace it brought would never end.
Meanwhile, after Charles left the room, allowing Lando and Oscar to enjoy their private moment, he met Carlos in the hallway. Carlos was heading to check on Lando after everything that had happened.
Charles stopped him with a small smile and said, “I think Lando and Oscar need some time alone right now.”
Carlos understood the truth in Charles’s words, sighed, and nodded. “I think you’re right. But I’m still worried about Lando,” Carlos said in a serious tone.
As they talked, Carlos noticed something different in Charles’s gaze, something unfamiliar. They exchanged casual conversations about future tasks and plans, but there was an unspoken tension in the air that neither could deny.
The two exchanged silent looks filled with mutual respect, and Carlos felt a sense of relief being with Charles, as if a burden was lifted from his shoulders. While Charles felt his admiration for Carlos growing, he decided to remain silent until he understood his feelings better.
Before leaving the hallway, Charles put his hand on Carlos’s shoulder and said in a half-serious tone, “I have a feeling we’re going to need to rely on each other more in the coming days.”
Carlos nodded in agreement, though his reaction carried a hint of indifference.
Carlos and Charles continued walking in silence for a few moments before Charles excused himself to fetch some food for everyone.
A few minutes later, as Carlos was focused on his phone alone in one of the rooms, there was a knock on the door. The knocker entered after Carlos gave permission.
Lando entered, holding crutches, and spoke to Carlos, “You should confess quickly before we leave. As you know, this alliance won’t last long,” he said with a tone of certainty. Carlos responded, “What are you talking about? Who do you mean?” trying to hide his tension. “Don’t try to hide it from me. Who else but Charles? Besides, I knew just by seeing you yesterday when I woke up,” Lando said with a tone of confidence.
Carlos grabbed him by the collar, “This is none of your business, and can you be quiet? Anyone could hear you,” he said, focusing his gaze on Lando, who seemed pleased to be right.
Charles walked away from the door, smiling with muffled laughter, and left to get food.
