Miyako couldn't sleep, it was currently 2:14am in the morning and she still couldn't bring herself to even close her eyes to sleep. The platoon leader was restlessly training starting from 3:30pm until 11:30pm so she expected that her body would completely shut down by the time her body made contact with the bed at 12:00am, but she was obviously wrong. Adding that she was training the rookies the previous morning since 5:25am until 12:15pm, she was expecting that her body would be fully drained of energy by night time.
She's done everything she could think of that could help her fall asleep, including: ☒ drinking a cup of milk ☒ listening to relaxing cafe asmr ☒ stretching her sore limbs ☒ finishing her written work and reports ☒ eating late night snacks ☒ watching multiple movies ☒ organizing her weapons by size
Yet none of them worked, miyako felt like she'd die sooner or later if she didn't get even 5 hours of sleep so she opened her phone once more to check if any of her friends were experiencing the same sleeping problem, but it seemed like she was the only one considering that it was 2am.
"Just who would be in their right mind be awake at this time, right?"
Mumbling to herself as she turned off her phone and stared at her ceiling full of spread-out glow in the dark stars, Miyako wouldn't admit that she was scared of the dark out loud because of the sole reasons of deeming it as a pathetic thing to be scared of as a soldier.
But just as she thought that no one would be awake at such an early time in the morning, someone messaged her suddenly with a loud ping. The person's chat was glowing brightly at the top of the notification bar, miyako couldn't ignore it and took her phone once more from the bedside table.

Miyako's lip curved up in excitement, knowing full well that the white haired boy never made the first move before in the last 2 months of them chatting and getting to know each other. They've familiarized each other's presence and sought the other out whenever one's missing, it was a cute little relationship.
They were sorta like friends, but the other is their superior in ability and title-wise whilst the other is a 2 years younger newbie officer.
The platoon leader being the friendly girl that she is didn't hesitate to take every single newbie's number without shame after a week of training together, ichikawa reno's was the first one she asked for as expected of favoritism.
They talk at least once every day, before and after training too in real life and in their messaging app! It's obvious that he's her favorite just by the way she acts with him- she's like a golden retriever following her owner around so imagine how she feels now that reno is talking to her after a draining day.
