Four years ago, Lagertha and Bjorn had left kattegat because of Ragnar betrayal of sleeping with Aslaug only for her to appear out of nowhere pregnant with his child. Ragnar and Elizabeth was forced to move on with their lives without them and even though Lizzie was angry with Bjorn she didn't blame him for wanting to go with his mother not wanting her to be alone as Bjorn knew his father would be just fine with Lizzie by his side as the two of them were always together wheather it was joking around or training together.
Elizabeth was a lot of things but a good friend is one of them as once Bjorn was gone she befriended Uhtred as at the start it began as a friendship but it ended up being something more when she was fourteen years old she didn't think she would feel this way about somebody but she fell deeply in love with Uhtred even though Ragnar hated it at the start but he saw how happy he made his daughter and gave the boy a chance.
Over the years, Ragnar had slowly started to break down as he found himself no longer happy like he used to be when he was when he was with Lagertha, Bjorn, Gyda and Elizabeth. It was clear he cared about Aslaug as she was the mother of his children he never loved her the way he loved Lagertha. The only real happiness he had was with the time he spent with his daughter, Lizzie as she was the one who filled the void in his heart after Lagertha and Bjorn left Kattegat.
Elizabeth was the light in his life and without her it would of just been filled with darkness and self loathing, he watched her grow up to the beautiful girl now and helped train her to be the best shield maiden there is and knew that she would be known in the world for being the greatest one to ever live. Lizzie felt lost without part of her family and while she did have people that cared about her it wasn't the same without Lagertha or Bjorn as she longed to see them once again.
The fluorescent light of the beam of sunlight peaked through the curtains of the windows of Elizabeth room as the warm heat of the sunlight collided with the bodies of Uhtred and Elizabeth , who embraced one another under the soft sheets in the bed. Elizabeth check was rested against Uhtred bare chest, rising as he breathed gently running his fingers through her blonde hair.
Uhtred had been awake for quite a while now, after the night that they had and the amount of love that he carried for this girl in his arms, he couldn't help but stare at her with a look of adoration on his face as she slept peacefully. In all honesty, Uhtred still couldn't believe he was loved by a beautiful and selfless women like Elizabeth. After everything they have been through together he couldn't help but feel unworthy of her love, but right now he was happy with the time they've spent together and happy just to call her his without any drama or gossip going around Winterfell about them both.
Elizabeth groaned quietly as the sunlight shined directly into her closed eyelids causing her to squint them shut as she turned over with a wince attempting to go back to sleep before the sound of Uhtred chuckle was heard causing a small smile to appear on her lips as she let out a groan turning around to face him, " I can sense you staring at me, Uhtred" Lizzie muttered as she let out a quiet groan raising her hand to rub her eyes.
