Bakugou had just gotten back from a jog. His hearing aid batteries ran out when he was 8 kilometers (about 5 miles) away from the school. It was a very quiet run back.
When he went up to his room to get more batteries, he realized those were his last ones. He regretted not getting more the last time he was out.
He knew that each of his friends had extra batteries with them, just in case he ran out.
He had checked Jirou's room, Kirishima's room, Sero's room, and Denki's room, and no one was there. He had finally gotten to Mina's room, and he knocked on her door. If there was anyone in the room, he wouldn't be able to hear them anyway.
They had all stopped mid-conversation as soon as he knocked on the door. Bakugou has a distinct way of knocking, so they definitely know it's him.
They started whispering, unaware he's not wearing his hearing aids.
"What do we do?!" Mina asked, clearly panicking.
"I don't know," Kirishima stated, "What if he needs us?"
"Should we open the door?" Denki asked.
"No, then we won't be ignoring him. We know it's him at the door, so opening it will be interacting with him. Plus it would be rude to shut the door in his face." Sero said.
All of a sudden, each of their phones buzzed. A message from Bakugou on their group chat appeared: where r u guys ???
Yeah, they forgot about the group chat. Ignoring him is gonna be a lot harder than they originally thought.
"Oh man... should we say something?" Jirou asked.
"We can't....that wouldn't be ignoring him..." Mina replied.
Another message from Bakugou: srsly
And another: any of u got batteries ??
"He needs some batteries. He must have run out." Mina said.
"We're terrible. He can't hear and we're trying to 'teach him a lesson'?! What kind of friends are we?!" Kirishima stated.
There was another knock at the door. It was Bakugou, again.
They know what terrible friends they're being, but they still didn't answer the door or his texts.

Bakugou just assumed they were all taking naps in their dorms or something. He didn't actually go inside any of their rooms to check - he didn't want to be nosy.
He knew he shouldn't wait to get new batteries, so he got ready to go to the store.
It's a quick walk to the corner store, which always has batteries - and since he's a regular customer, the shopkeeper gives him a discount.
Normally when he's leaving the dorms, his classmates wave at him, and he would usually wave back. This time, no one even spared him a glance - but he thought nothing of it.
At the store, he bought two packs of batteries, and some snacks since the kitchen was running low. Once he paid, he took his hearing aids out of his pocket and opened one of the battery packs. He put the new batteries in, and then put his hearing aids in. He thanked the shopkeeper, and then he left.
On his way back to UA, the streets were very loud. He never really enjoyed the loud sounds of the bustling city. He preferred when it was quiet. Having the ability to turn the sound off at any moment was something he enjoyed, but he knows he should never purposefully have his hearing aids off when walking around on his own. There are always villains and muggers around, and he needs to be ready at all times, and he hates being vulnerable.
When he made it back to the dorms, no one greeted him. Usually he gets at least a few 'hellos' or 'welcome backs', but this time he got nothing. Once again, he thought nothing of it.
He took the grocery bag to the kitchen to put the snacks away. Whenever there's new snacks in the kitchen, people come running to get first dibs on their favorites - but this time, no one came. That's when he thought it was weird. Normally everyone is fighting for the snacks, even if they just ate.
He decided not to think too hard about it, and went up to his room - taking the elevator, since he had a long day of walking and running.Once the elevator reached his floor, the doors opened, revealing his five friends. They looked shocked to see him, as if they had no idea he was looking for them.
"Where have you guys been?" Bakugou asked, ignoring the shocked looks on their faces.
He was met with silence. They just walked right past him and into the elevator, with the door closing behind them, like they never even heard him.
He doesn't know how to feel. Annoyed? Angry? Hurt? Did his friends completely ignoring him really hurt his feelings?
Whether it hurt his feelings or not is besides the point. He was not about to let some little 'incident' like that make him feel bad.
He's The Katsuki Bakugou, after all.
