The next morning the five were in Remedial Goodness 101 taught by Fairy Godmother. Mal sat at a table with Evie while Jay and Carlos were sitting at a table next to them with Azira alone at a table above them.
"If someone hands you a crying baby, do you..." Fairy Godmother asked the class, which was only the Vks, "A) curse it, B) Lock it in a tower, C) give it a bottle, or D) carve out its heart?" Fairy Godmother read the options, putting hand gestures for each one of them.
"My Dad always said that he would do the last one to my aunt if he could," Azira said, chuckling. "He almost did once."
Jay and Carlos laughed while Evie raised her hand into the air quickly.
"Evie!' Fairy Godmother smiled, pointing at the girl with her stick.
"What was the second one?" Evie asked Fairy Godmother, causing Mal to give her a look that said 'Really?'
"Oh, okay. Anyone else?" Fairy Godmother asked. "Mal?" she asked since no one else raised their hands.
Mal looked up from where she was doing a very detailed sketch of Fairy Godmother's wand. "Uh C) give it a bottle."
"Correct. Again," Fairy Godmother told Mal with a smile.
"You are on fire, girl," Carlos complimented. Mal just shrugged.
"Just picked the one that doesn't sound like any fun," Mal told them like it was obvious.
"Oh!" Carlos said in realization.
"That makes so much sense," Evie breathed out.
Azira scoffed. "Boring!"
"It is though," Mal agreed before rolling her eyes and going back to her drawing.
A girl who wore a light blue dress that had a big bow in front of it, she wore a matching blue bow on her short hair along with some white sparkling flats, came into the classroom. She squeaked as she came to where the Vks sat and rushed past them quickly, looking back at them, terrified.
The girl and Azira locked eyes for a moment. Azira looked at the girl for a moment before she realized that it was the same girl who was with Audrey in her dorm room last night. Azira just smiled at her before the girl nervously walked away,
"Hello, dear one," Fairy Godmother greeted the girl.
"Hi," the girl said quickly. "You need to sign off on the early dismissal for the coronation," she said nervously, practically shoving the clipboard into Fairy Godmother's hands as she looked back at the Vks, even more terrified.
Mal nudged Evie, who had been staring off into space, to make her pay attention.
"Everyone remembers my daughter, Jane," Fairy Godmother told them.
Azira's eyes widened. Jane, huh? She thought. This just got interesting.
"Mom!" Jane squeaked.
"It's okay," Fairy Godmother reassured her daughter. "Jane, this is everyone," she said as she pushed her daughter forward.
"Hi!" Jane said to the Vks, trying her best to ignore Azira's gaze. "That's okay, don't mind me, as you were," she said when no one replied before she quickly ran out of the room. Mal and Azira smirked before glancing at Jane as she left the room.
Fairy Godmother cleared her throat. "Let's continue." she backs to the board, but just as she opens her mouth, she looks up with confusion as she sees a snowflake come down from the ceiling. And then they started coming down one after another.
She looks up towards the entrance and her face goes to a serious one.
"Mr. Eliott, can you please put on your gloves while in the building?" she asked.
The five looked towards the entrance as well to see a boy with black hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. He had on an icy blue uniform that matched his eyes perfectly.
Azira smirked as he saw him. "Hey, Snow Prince," she said playfully.
Eliott quickly turned to Azira and turned a bright red once their eyes connected.
"Uh um h-hey!" he greeted. "N-nice to see you here."
Azira chuckled. "You know? When I said 'I'll see you later' I didn't mean literally."
Eliott chuckled. "Well I guess the fates decided otherwise," he said, giving Azira a nervous smile.
Fairy Godmother smiled at the interaction. "Eliott," she said, making the boy turn to him. "Why don't you take a seat next to Azira? Since she doesn't have anyone else to sit with."
Azira's smirk faded. "I'm sorry?" she asked. "Tha-that's not necessary."
"Yeah," Eliott agreed. "I can sit anywhere else."
But Fairy Godmother wouldn't budge. "Oh, I insist, after all, it is better to get close to someone to get to know them."
Eliott and Azira looked at each other before Eliott sighed and took a seat next to her.
Fairy Godmother smiled before turning back to the board. "Now, onto the question," she said. "You find a vial of poison, do you..." she asked, "A) put it in the king's wine," Evie started to raise her hand slowly. "B) paint it on an apple," Evie laughed at that as Mal smiled at her before going back to her drawing. "Or C) turn it over to the proper authorities?"
This time Evie, Jay, Azira, and Carlos' hands went up in the air. Mal just continued drawing. Jay pulled Carlos' hand down.
"Jay?" Fairy Godmother said, pointing at him.
"C) you turn it in over to the proper authorities," Jay answered as he let go of Carlos' hand.
"I was gonna say that!" Carlos told Jay.
"Oh, but I said it first," Jay said in a baby voice. Then before they both knew it, Carlos and Jay started wrestling on the table. Azira laughed loudly at them, encouraging the fighting to continue.
Fairy Godmother hit the pointer stick on the podium several times. "Boys! Boys!" she said loudly to get their attention. Once she finally got their attention she said "I am going to encourage you to use that energy on the tourney field," she then pointed to the field outside.
"Oh, no that's okay," Carlos said as he and Jay went back to their seats. "Whatever that is, we'll-we'll pass."
Azira chuckled at the boys as she sat back down in her seat.
Eliott smiled as he looked at the daughter of Ares. He suddenly admired the way she smiled or how she laughed. He found himself staring at her, tuning out Fairy Godmother's lesson.
