After school, Azira was sitting on Mal's bed with Mal, Evie, and Jane. Evie was sewing a dress, Mal was lying down on her stomach on her bed while Azira was watching Jane pace around the room.
"Mom said, if a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it.' can't you believe it?" Jane asked incredulously as she stopped pacing next to Mal's bed in front of Azira. She then walked over to where Evie's bed was. "What world does she live in?"
"Auradon," Mal replied simply.
"Mal, Azzy. do you like it?" Evie asked as she held up what she was sewing so that Mal and Azira could see it.
Mal and Azira glanced up to see it. "Yeah it's cute," Mal said before going back to doing her homework.
Azira smiled. "Ooh! Eves that is so cute!" she said. "It brings out your eyes!"
Evie smiled. "I know!" she squealed happily before going back to sewing.
"I'll never get a boyfriend," Jane said sadly as she sat on Evie's bed.
"Well, your mom's kind of right, J, can I call you J?" she said. When Jane nodded she continued. "My dad always told me that all men cared about was looks and beauty and when that's all that they care about, women will do everything to try and fix themselves to appeal to that man, and that's not how it's supposed to go."
"But what if that's all a man will ever be?" Jane asked.
"Then screw him," Mal said. "Men and boyfriends are overrated."
"Yeah," Azira said. "Most of them just care about themselves. Take my grandfather and granduncle, Poseidon and Zeus, all they care about is looks. Men like that are just a waste of space and time."
Evie suddenly gasped. "I forgot to do Chad's homework!" she rushed across the room and picked up a backpack. "Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no!"
Azira sighed. "And that's exactly what I mean," she pointed out. "Evie, sweetie."
Azira walked towards Evie and tried to stop her when the four heard a knock on the door. A girl entered uninvited. "Hi, guys! I'm Lonnie," she said. Everyone had blank stares as she looked around the room. "My mom's Mulan?" she prompted but was met with even more blank stares. "No? Anyways, Mal, I love what you've done with Jane's hair and I know that you hate us and well you're evil but you can do mine?" Lonnie asked Mal.
Azira looked at Mal as she answered Lonnie. "Why would I do that for you?" she wondered as she looked up from her homework to look at Lonnie.
"I'll pay you 50 dollars," Lonnie offered, holding out a bag of money.
"Good answer!" Evie exclaimed as she stood up and took the money from Lonnie's hand. "I need to buy more materials. Let's see, I'm thinking we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights-"
"No, no," Lonnie says, cutting off Evie. "I want it cool," she then looks over at Mal. "Like Mal's."
"Really?" Evie asked with a grin. "The split ends too?"
Mal gave Evie an annoyed look as Evie just shook the bag of coins. Mal groaned as she rolled off the bed and took out her spell book. She flipped through the pages and opened it to the right page.
"Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair," Mal read before flicking her finger. Lonnie watched the magic sparks fly until they hit her face. Then her short, bob hair grew into long, curly hair.
She then went to the mirror and gasped. Mal, Jane, Evie, and Azira walked up behind her. Evie looked disapprovingly.
"I know, I know. It looks like a mop on your head. You know let's cut it off. Layer it-" Evie started but was quickly cut off by Lonnie.
"No, no, no, no, no!" Lonnie said, quickly, "I love it!"
"You do?" Evie asked, disappointed.
"It's just..." Lonnie said softly. She reached down and ripped the hem of her skirt. Mal smirked a little while Jane and Azira looked a little scared, glancing at each other. "Now I'm cool!"
"Like ice," Mal told Lonnie, smirking.
Jane looked at Azira again before walking over to the mirror and suddenly ripped a split in the side of her dress just as Lonnie did. "What did I just do?" Jane gasped. "Mom's gonna kill me!"
Lonnie laughed at her.
