Seungmin awoke the next morning in an unfamiliar room, feeling disoriented and groggy.
He sat up slowly, taking in his surroundings. The room was modest but cozy, with warm sunlight filtering through the curtains, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
As his mind cleared, the events of the previous night came flooding back to him, bringing a wave of shame and relief.
He felt deeply embarrassed about how Han had found him, a mess of tears and blood. He was also disappointed in himself for giving in to his vampiric instincts and attacking an innocent person.
His remorse was overwhelming.
As he looked around the room, his eyes fell on a tray with a bag of blood and a note. He reached for the note and read it:
"I had to leave for work but I will try to come early so we can talk. Drink this and then if you want, you can go hang out with my friends until I come back. (They really want to meet you)."
His hunger surged as he looked at the bag of blood, and he quickly drank it, feeling immediate relief but also a pang of guilt.
After finishing the blood, he hesitated to leave the room. He didn't know who Han's friends were and couldn't fathom why they would want to spend time with him.
However, a sudden wave of loneliness washed over him. Since becoming a vampire, his friends had abandoned him, leaving him isolated. Han was the only person he had interacted with in months, and Seungmin realized how much he missed social contact.
Steeling himself, he slowly opened the door and stepped out of the room. He walked down the hallway and into the living room, where two boys were sitting on a couch, hugging each other and watching a movie.
"Oh, you woke up already," one of them said, noticing him. The other paused the movie and looked at him with a wide smile.
"Come sit with us," he said, making space between them on the couch.
Feeling shy, Seungmin took the offered seat. The boy with black hair introduced himself, "I'm Hyunjin."
"And I'm Felix," the other boy said with a reassuring smile.
"I'm Seungmin," he replied softly.
"Oh, we know!" Hyunjin exclaimed as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"You know?" Seungmin asked, curious and slightly puzzled.
"You're the vampire who saved Han during a mission," Felix explained. "He was stupid for going there alone, and he was lucky you were there."
"He’s been worrying about you for the past month because you never called him until now," Hyunjin added.
At that moment, another boy burst into the room from the kitchen, holding a bowl of popcorn. "He's awake!" he shouted excitedly.
"Yes, Innie, calm down," Felix said.
"Sorry, I was just excited," the boy apologized. "You know how much I wanted to meet you. Han talks about you all the time," he said, looking at Seungmin.
"Han is going to kill us," Felix remarked, shaking his head.
"Well, it was obvious we were going to spill the tea," Hyunjin responded with a grin.
"Well, if we’re spilling the tea," the boy started, "then, Seungmin, what happened last night that made you finally call him?"
"You don't have to answer," Felix assured him. "Han didn’t want to tell us in case you didn't want us to know."
