Y/N Chen, you, were a popular girl at school— well only because that's the status your best friend since childhood went for. By the time you were 13 you both had absolutely nothing in common, you stayed with your nerdy, 'childish' hobbies and interests, while Phoebe grew out of them and made her personality solely to please other people and build up her reputation.
You weren't too confident with yourself, which is why you stood by your best friend even if it deep down made you miserable— Phoebe wasn't an idiot, she knew early on her best friend wasn't at all a 'snobby, cool, popular kid' at heart, and to be quite frank that sort of crowd of people made you cringe internally.
"Skylor— i don't need a kiss goodbye, i'm fifteen now!" You groan as you lean away from your older sisters grasp. Your friends were waiting outside your front yard in a decently expensive, convertible car.
"come on Y/N, we don't have all day!" Allison, another girl from in the friend group calls out in a joking matter, but Skylor knew she wasn't really joking— she wasn't as oblivious as you were at times.
Skylor sighs, "Okay, well have a good day. i'll see you around school." She ruffles her younger sisters hair as you jog off down to the car without a word Skylors way, music blasting despite the time of morning.
