"𝓦elcome to history." frankie smiles, hopping into her favorite class. "where do i sit?"
"behind me." frankie sat her backpack on the ground and handed lucas her crutches. "can you put those by the walls for me, please."
"of course." the bell rings, and maya and riley walk in, talking. "they're in this class too?"
"sadly." lucas gave her a look, "be nice."
"all right. so, should we actually learn about what happened in belgium in 1831?" mr. matthews asked his class. "no!" farkle screams. "no?"
"i always get my hopes up, and then something happens to hurt my little farkle heart. well, this time, i refuse to believe." farkle says. "in 1831..."
"yes? wait!" he looks to riley, "anything going to suddenly happen to you?"
"no changes, lovin' life." she answers with a smile on her face." he then turns to lucas, "anything going to happen to you?"
"nothing ever happens to me," lucas shrugs. "frankie darling, what about you?"
"nothing."
"maya?" she snores. "oh my gosh. this is it." farkle smiles, grabbing the sides of his desk. "in 1831...belgium-" a mystery boy walks in, "what? y'all started without me?" farkle stands up angrily, pointing at the door, "get out!"
"someone in this room is going to be very surprised to see me." frankie looks over at lucas weirdly; she knows all his friends. right? "is it me?" riley asks. "don't know, sugar, but could you get any cuter?"
"well, i can't answer that." she smiles. "you got a transcript, kid?" mr. matthews asks him. he handed cory his papers. "i do. check out them grades. here, let me sing 'em to you. d, d, d, d, d, f." maya smiles and nods, "yeah, i know that song."
"isaiah babineaux. from austin, texas." everyone looks at lucas. "what are you doing here, zay?" lucas asks, annoyed. "well, the first thing i'm doing is waitin' for a better reaction from you."
"who is he?" frankie asks lucas. "maya, something's changing." lucas couldn't look her in the eye; he thought he had more time to tell her. "lucas."
"okay, mr. teach, where do i sit? you know, usually, i'm more of a back row kind of guy." zay asks, pointing toward the back where brenda waves and smiles "whoa. that's unusual."
