Annie woke up as usual, stretching as she reluctantly rolled out of bed. The early morning light filtered through her window, casting a soft glow in her room. She quickly got ready, starting with a refreshing bath that helped shake off the last remnants of sleep. After drying off, she changed into her school uniform, carefully selecting accessories that matched her mood—today, she opted for a pair of quirky earrings shaped like tiny books.
Once dressed, Annie headed to the kitchen, where she cleaned up a bit, feeling satisfied with her small act of morning tidying. For breakfast, she enjoyed a cup of yogurt, savoring the creamy texture and the tang of the fruit at the bottom. She also packed some leftover Karjalan Paisti from last night's dinner, neatly placing it in her lunchbox. Just as she was finishing up, a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Bell, her ever-present ghostly companion, called out with an insistent tone.
Annie sighed inwardly, already feeling the day's first annoyance. "What is it now?" she thought, her mental voice tinged with irritation.
"I'm hungry!" Bell's voice echoed with a dramatic grumble, her ghostly form mimicking the sound of a rumbling stomach.
"We'll eat soon," Annie reassured her, trying to keep her patience. "So, get it together..." She finished brushing her teeth, watching her reflection in the mirror. Even in her head, she could sense Bell's impatience, which only added to her own mild irritation.
With everything in order, Annie grabbed her backpack and headed out. The jet, a sleek, futuristic vehicle that transported students to and from the academy, awaited her as usual. As she boarded, she spotted Rose, who was sitting comfortably and engrossed in something on her phone.
"Hey, girl!" Rose greeted cheerfully, looking up briefly. Annie noticed that Rose was deeply absorbed in a BL manga, her eyes darting across the screen with interest.
Curious, Annie glanced at the title and immediately recognized it. "Killing Stalking? Really?" she thought, her eyebrows knitting together in surprise. The manga had a notorious reputation for its dark and intense themes, which Annie found unsettling.
Rose's eyes widened as she noticed Annie's gaze. With a panicked look, she quickly closed the app, her face turning a deep shade of crimson. "Oh my gosh... She saw what I'm reading... This is so embarrassing!" Rose's mind raced, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.
"I can't believe she's reading Killing Stalking," Annie thought, her expression turning from surprise to mild disgust. "I absolutely hated that manga. It's so lewd!"
"Girl, it's just a fictional BL manga," Bell chimed in, her tone dismissive. "You're being so dramatic..."
The rest of the ride to school was filled with a tense silence. Annie was still processing her surprise and discomfort, while Rose was too embarrassed to make conversation. They both stared out of the window, lost in their thoughts as the jet smoothly glided toward the school.
